Hollow Demonic Shades

Kim Harrison has unveiled the first full cover page for the upcoming Hollows comic.  Isn’t it pretty?  It has Ivy and Kisten on the it.  We’re getting closer to its release.

Diana Rowland has also posted the cover (via Facebook) for the third Kara Gilligan novel, Secrets of the Demon, which will be released January 4, 2011.

Rachel Vincent has posted an excerpt from the final Shifters novel, Alpha, which is due to release on October 1st.  Make sure you read this….I don’t know if it is my hormones or not, but I was in tears by the end.

Interviews:

Shiloh Walker has fabulous news for fans of her Grimm Circle series. The novella, I Thought It Was You, is going to be available for free download at Samhain Publishing as well as the major retailers (although it is available now at Samhain). Here’s the blurb for I Thought It Was You.

The events of this free short story take place between the events of No Prince Charming and Ren’s story, Crazed Hearts. It turns out both Ren and Elle had some loose ends they needed to tie up…and that’s what this story is about. It’s not Ren’s happy ever after. That’s in Crazed Hearts.

There’s also an excerpt up for the third novel, Crazed Hearts, which came out yesterday.

Ellz Readz has unearthed the cover for Michelle Rowen’s new title, Nightshade, which will be out February 2011.

Are you looking for an online Book Club that’s totally laid back (at least that’s the idea)?  Then check out Literary Escapism’s Book Club over on GoodReads.  Well, it starts off on GoodReads, but we’ll be discussing each months book in the Chat Room where everyone can join in.  Read the book?  Don’t read the book?  It’s all good; everyone is more than welcome to join in the discussion.  July’s book is Night’s Cold Kiss by Tracey O’Hara and August’s pick is being determined now.

Lauren Dane will be chatting live this Friday from 11:00-11:20am PST at Books on Board’s facebook fanpage wall.

This is probably old news, but the Smart Chicks Kick It Tour has it’s own blog now.  The schedule now up and I’m sadden to see the closest they’ll get to me is Ohio or Toronto.

Loucinda McGary Contest

I had the amazing Loucinda McGary on Literary Escapism last week. To celebrate the release of The Wild Irish Sea, Loucinda is giving away two copies of The Wild Irish Sea to a lucky winner. In order to enter, everyone had to answer the question: Is there a certain animal that triggers your imagination? Do you have a favorite animal (whether it’s a were or not) that you love to read about? Now, without further ado, the winners are:

PAM S who said: This sounds like a good book. I look forward to checking it out. Thank you for the great post as well. I’ve always been a fan of unicorns and dragons.

JENN who said: This book sounds wonderful!  I love reading about wolves and big cats. I think they’re fascinating.

Congratulations Pam and Jenn!

You have one week to send me an email at jackie AT literaryescapism DOT com, otherwise I’ll draw a new name when I post the current contest winners next weekend.

As always, I determined the winners by inputting all the entries into the List Randomizer, scrambling it up a couple of times, and then had the Research Randomizer pick a number.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Do you have any more info on the Kim Harrison Hollows comic? Like who’s publishing it and when it comes out?

    • For who is publishing it, Del Rey has taken it on, but there has not been a release date mentioned. At least, not one I’ve come across yet. This is the first color page that has been posted, so I’m not expecting anything before late this fall or even early next year.

  2. The graphic novel cover is great! I am excited to see this come together and can’t wait for it to hit the stores. Thanks for sharing!

Also, thanks so much Literary and Loucinda for The Wild Irish Sea!
