Cover Happy

We have a shiny new cover for Virginia Kantra’s Sea Lord, the third novel in her Children of the Sea paranormal romance series.  This series revolves a unique shapeshifter culture and is one to check out.  If you curious, the story begins with Kantra’s story in Shifter.  The first two novels in the series are Sea Witch and Sea FeverSea Lord will be available May 5th.

Anyone who is an e-book reader may be excited to hear that Orbit is going to be launching a promotion offering one ebook for sale each month for $1.00. Some of the ebooks up for grabs will include The Way of Shadows by Brent Weeks, Empress by Karen Miller, and many other science fiction and fantasy novels.

As most of the fans are aware, David Tennant is leaving Doctor Who after the current season.  Well, they’ve finally gotten around to naming the new Dr. and he’s a little younger than the current on.  In fact, Matt Smith is 11 years younger than Tennant.  It should be interesting to see what they put the new doctor through.  There are a few things they will be able to do with a younger doctor. What do you think?

Check out the new snazzy cover of Rob Thurman’s Trick of the Light. It’s the first novel in a new series called Trickster and it won’t be out until sometime this fall.

I don’t remember seeing the cover for Lauren Dane’s Relentless, the second novel in her Federation series and the follow-up to Undercover (see my review of Undercover here). Relentless comes out May 8th.

Ilona Andrews has posted another snippet from the fourth Kate Daniels novel. There’s no title yet, so if you want something, this is what you get.

The 20th Edition of the Bookworms Carnival is up at the community site. This stops theme was Guilty Pleasure and it does have a more paranormal feel to it since I ended up begging people for submissions (we only had three and one of those was mine).

One last bit of news, Amberkatze has nominated Literary Escapism for a Butterfly Award. I now get to nominate 10 blogs of my own, but I think I am going to take Amber’s approach and name the ones that I have in my RSS feed (as opposed to the dozens in my Google Reader), which means I always know when something has been posted.
