Strange Words
Lilith Saintcrow’s publisher is looking for opinions on the cover for Strange Angels. What do you guys think? Head on over and let Lilith know what you think.
Okay, so I really don’t want to mention this, because I want to win, however….CONTEST ALERT…Rachel Vincent received her ARCs of Pride and she’s giving away two. Woohoo! Who else wants one?
I wasn’t sure if anyone had seen this yet or not, but remember last fall when My Friend Amy put together a Book Bloggers Appreciation Week? Well, she took all the participating blogs into a searchable directory. How cool is that. So if you’re looking for more great book review sites, then I would check out the directory. All the blogs are categorized, so finding something you’ll be interested in should be easy.
Carrie Vaughn is continuing on with her analysis of the Urban Fantasy genre with Deconstructing Urban Fantasy. As a recap, Carrie has already shared with us her views on When Things Go Wrong and The Formula.
So I still haven’t seen too much on this new anthology, A Fantasy Medley, featuring Kelley Armstrong, Kate Elliott, Robin Hobb and C. E. Murphy, but check out the cover. It really doesn’t scream paranormal to me, so it could be strictly fantasy. I have a release date of July 31, 2009, but Amazon doesn’t have the date yet, so who knows when it’s coming out.
ETA Thanks to SciFiGuy: Here’s some information on A Fantasy Medley. Doug is saying that it is due out in March and Subterranean Press is saying the same thing, but there isn’t an exact date.
Alright, Nicola, you’re hilarious. I am always amused whenever I read her site, Alpha Heroes, and today is no exception. Today’s topic talks about the complex/interesting/weird invention of the paranormal penis. Strangely, I have to agree with her. There are times that the sex involved in paranormal fiction gets more than a little kinky and weird and while I will admit that sex can be a huge plot booster, it still needs to be done realistically. Unless you put it in an alien world.

Welcome to my alternate reality. Escaping into new worlds, meeting new characters and exploring different societies is the only way we have of leaving the harsh reality of life behind us...if only for a little bit.

You can check out Fantasy Medley over at the Subterranean Press website. It comes out in march. Publishers weekly just did a starred review of it.
