I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. This is the first I have head about the next Anita Blake book, Hit List. I did a quick scan of all her websites and it looks like the only one that talks about it is Facebook.

Thanks so much for the heads up, though now I have to wait 3 months to see what happens next. :D

  2. I’ve read all the Anita Blake books and I have to admit that the further into them you go the easier it is to loose track of her beau cos there’s just so many of them! The earlier books are better – the sexual tensions between Anita, Jean-Claude (who I love) and Richard (who is a little too angst ridden for me) is wonderful. It’s a shame that its had to get so bogged down in the sex. I’m seriously thinking that the whole thing needs to come to a conclusion – Anita needs to accept the final mark from Jean-Claude, Richard needs to decide what he really wants from life and they need to clear out the Council/Mother of All Darkness once and for all. Its all getting too messy. I’m hoping Hit List will tie up some of the loose ends and not just re-hash the plot of ‘The Laughing Corpse’ and ‘Flirt’ which were both very similar situations (the later with a lot of sex).

  3. I have read all the books and love the series and I can’t wait to read the next book. It is hard to keep up with all her men but thats fantasy for you. As for as ending the series I’m not ready for it too end. I love all the different species in her books she has a fantastic imagination some of those things are atraight out our your worst nightmares.
