Damsel Under Stress by S. Swendson

The third novel in Shanna Swendson’s Katie Chandler series, Damsel Under Stress picks up right after the Christmas party from Once Upon Stilettos and we get to see what happens between Owen and Katie. Plus, a new twist has been added to the conflict between MSI and Idris.

Just like the previous two novels, Damsel Under Stress kept me entertain until the end. Although, I will say that I’m not exactly happy about the ending, but I understand why Swendson did what she did. I’m just hoping that it gets resolved in the next novel. I also have to say that I love the personality quirks that Idris has. The whole ADD/short attention span is beautiful in a villain. I mean, the fact that he gets distracted easily makes stopping him so much easier, which is also why I like the additional villains that are introduced. They make things a little more difficult. We continue to learn more about Katie and especially Owen, but what we learn about Owen adds a lot of questions. I’m really starting to wonder about Owen’s background after this novel and I’m hoping that Swendson gives us some more information in her upcoming novels.

Overall, I’m still enthralled with this series and I’m waiting on the library to get my hands on the next novel, Don’t Hex with Texas. I’ve also added this series to my Amazon wishlist, so if that doesn’t convince you to go out and get these novels, then I don’t know what else will.

I am still waiting to get my hands on book #2 in this series. I am on a bookring over on Bookcrossing for it but I may just go off and buy it soon because I don’t want to wait anymore. I loved book #1 and need some chicklit type paranormal…
