Author Appearances:

SPinborough-BeautyThere are always fabulous covers popping up and I simply can’t post them all, so here’s a select few that have caught my eye. To see them all, head over to facebook, where I’ve added them to the March album for your viewing pleasure. Don’t forget to check out the new covers that came out in January and February.

Publisher Weekly has the news of the sale of Jim Butcher’s new fantasy series, The Cinder Spires, which is set in a world “of black spires that tower for miles over a mist-shrouded surface” and follows a war between two of the Spires: Spire Albion and Spire Aurora.”  A release date has not been mentioned for the first novel, The Aeronaut’s Windlass, but I’m guessing we won’t see it before 2014.

Ilona Andrews has fabulous news! ACE bought more of their Kate Daniels novels, so we’ll be getting more Kate and Curran for awhile yet. Yea! But there’s even more good news. If you’ve read their Silver Shark novel and thought they should write more (I know I have), well you’ll be happy to hear that they kind of are. Ilona Andrews have sold a new series to Avon (HarperCollins), which includes at least three novels, that takes place in a “modern Medici-like dynasties with paranormally enhanced abilities.” While not a Kinsmen novel, Andrews is describing it as “Part of it came from Silver Shark universe with its families with supernatural powers and parts of it was borrowed from Of Swine and Roses.”  There’s no mention of when the first novel will be out or if there’s a tentative title yet, so I wouldn’t expect a release date to be in 2013. Hopefully there’ll be more information by the end of the year though.

Chloe Neill has posted the back cover blurb for her next Chicagoland Vampire novel, Biting Bad.

Merit has been a vampire for only a short while, but she’s already seen a lifetime’s worth of trouble. She and her Master, centuries-old Ethan Sullivan, have risked their lives time and again to save the city they love. But not all of Chicago is loving them back.

Anti-vampire riots are erupting all over town, striking vampires where it hurts the most. A splinter group armed with Molotov cocktails and deep-seated hate is intent on clearing the fanged from the Windy City come hell or high water.

Merit and her allies rush to figure out who’s behind the attacks, who will be targeted next, and whether there’s any way to stop the wanton destruction. The battle for Chicago is just beginning, and Merit is running out of time.

In Maria Snyder’s November newsletter (I know I’m late with this information), she announced that she’s been contracted for four more novels by her publisher. The first one, Taste of Death, will be out in December 2013 and will be a part of her Healer series.  For the other three – they’ll be Yelena/Valek novels!!! The first one probably won’t be out until late 2014, but they’re coming. I’m so excited…I’ve been missing Valek!

Nalini Singh revealed the title for the next Guild Hunter novel.  We’ll be returning to a Elena/Raphael story with Archangel’s Legion, which will be released October 29th.

JEstep-Spartan FrostJennifer Estep has released both the cover and blurbs for her next Mythos Academy and  Elemental Assassin novels. Heart of Venom will be released August 27th, but before that, the novella Spartan Frost will be out June 25th and will be told completely from Logan’s point of view.

Heart of Venom: When a terror from the past threatens Gin’s friend and body-disposer, Sophia, Gin will stop at nothing to protect her, even if it means walking straight into a killer’s trap. Meanwhile, the rocky romance between Gin and Owen reaches a turning point — can they reunite and rekindle their love? Or will the things Gin has been forced to do in her line of work as the deadly assassin the Spider keep them apart forever? Assuming, that is, she survives long enough to find out …

Spartan Frost: I’m Logan Quinn, the deadliest Spartan warrior at Mythos Academy. At least I was — until the day I almost killed Gwen Frost.

Professor Metis and Nickamedes say that I’m fine, that Loki and the Reapers don’t have a hold on me anymore, but I can’t risk it. I can’t risk hurting Gwen again. So I’m leaving Mythos and going somewhere far, far away.

I know Gwen wonders what’s happening to me, whether I’m safe.  I can’t tell her, but this is my story …

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
