Interview: Jeaniene Frost (Video + Contest)

Jeaniene FrostToday I am incredibly excited to share the live interview I did with Jeaniene Frost last night via Google Hangouts On Air to celebrate the release of her final Night Huntress novel, Up from the Grave.

The Grave Ends Here.

Lately, life has been unnaturally calm for vampires Cat Crawfield and her husband Bones. They should have known better than to relax their guard, because a shocking revelation sends them back into action to stop an all-out war…

A rogue CIA agent is involved in horrifying secret activities that threaten to raise tensions between humans and the undead to dangerous heights. Now Cat and Bones are in a race against time to save their friends from a fate worse than death…because the more secrets they unravel, the deadlier the consequences. And if they fail, their lives–and those of everyone they hold dear– will be hovering on the edge of the grave.

As with all series endings, I’m so going to want more and will probably have a ton of questions. So I hope you’ll join me here at Hangouts On Air on February 10th at 8pm EST, when I talk with Jeaniene Frost live to get some of those answers.

This was LE’s first video interview and I have to say it went well. But don’t take my word for it, take a look at what we talked about. Trust me, you’ll want to. Jeaniene talked about Ian, the third Vlad book, possible stories in the Night Huntress World and quite a few spoilers for Up from the Grave. The spoilers begin at the 36:00 mark, so if you don’t want to hear those, that’s when you’ll want to stop.

  1. I will miss seeing their relationship play out. The ups and downs affect me more than a fictional relationship has any business to.

  2. I will miss Cat and Bones together. They have been one of the best book couples I have ever read. Their banter, love and friendship together was beautiful to read. Plus Bones is so sexy, I’ll miss that.

  6. Is the contest open internationally? :) If it’s not, ignore me when picking the winner!

I so loved this interview! And gosh, what I’ll miss the most? Probably Cat & Bones. And even if they’ll be back in other stories, I’ll miss them being the focus! They’re some of the characters I’ve loved the most ever and I love their relationship. I don’t think I’ll ever get enough!

    • For this one, I’ll leave it open internationally. It’s a signed book, and it’s the last book, so why not. Although you may not get it right away. *grin* Depending on how internationally, I might have to wait a bit before sending out.

  8. I have all of Frost’s books including the E read only ones! What I will miss most about The Night Huntress series is the Chemistry between Cat & Bones The Humor, The Passion, The way they connect so well. They drive each other crazy because they care so much and have each others back. I highly recommend this series and all her books to everyone who loves the paranormal! I am a very selective reader! Frost has a talent of hooking you into her books so much that you do not want it to end! Please Ms. Frost Keep Writing!!!

  9. So sad that this has to end! I will miss Cat & Bones fights, how they always seems to be made for each other, how they live their life with no regret and how they take care of each other. All the hours reading these books that made me feel so good and put a smile on my face when I had a bad day. Their story made me laugh and cry and stay up all night long… They even forced me to read in English cause I couldn’t wait for the french version (it takes forever), witch I’m not used to cause I speak french. Thanks to Cat & Bones, I’ve improved my english a lot! (sorry if i’ve made mistake in my text!)

  10. I’ll miss the banter between Cat and Bones ;). I’ll also miss the secondary characters. They’ve all been in our lives for so long.

  11. I will miss many things but I will really miss how – especially in recent books – Cat & Bones get help from friends & everybody works together – even Ian (who grew on me).

  12. Eternal Kiss of Darkness is a strong, potent paranormal romance from a writer of both suspenseful and romantic creativity and originality. Again I dare say if you’re not familiar with Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series, then this book will be a little confusing!!! Because this is an offshoot / stand alone novel in an already well-developed world. In this stand-alone novel, we spend more time with Meacheres, one of the secondary characters throughout the Night Huntress series (Bones… ah. ah.. grand father/ sire). In this installment kira Graceling understood that life as a private investigator sometimes means late hours and on occasion walking through dangerous environs. So hearing the evil laughter’s and a gang beating and low moans of pain, she had to go investigate. As it turns out Mencheres, was being tortured by ghouls but when a human woman stepped out of the shadows and demanded his tormentors’ stops, he was surprise, because in his all too long life, no one had ever come to his aid. Despite the fact that her appearance ruined Mencheres carefully laid plans, he could not allow the human to be killed for her valor and moral fiber. However, in saving her life, he’d brought Kira to the attention of his ancient adversary, who’s sole intent wants both Mencheres’ power and his life. Eternal Kiss of Darkness was incredible, full of action, danger, and intense emotion, and it was one of the best paranormal romance books I’ve read! Frost manages to explore Mencheres in a different light without losing any of the absolute power of his personality, his skills, his magic or anything. She also managed to adroitly and subtly explains so much of what essentially makes him who he is!!! And she showed us that with all of Mencheres’s formal speech… he is utterly sexy!
