These are the top two shelves of my one and only bookcase. Top shelf is for LE to-reads, second are my personal to-read collection.
Clearly, this is only a small fraction of my to-read list. But since I have one bookcase I have to be picky of what goes on my shelves. Sadly, this is all I could fit without having my favorites hidden in a box, and well I just can’t have that nonsense. They must be seen at all times!
But I digress.
I have finally admitted to myself that my stash has become a bit, uh shall we say an annoying hoard, and that, my fellow book worms, is a bad, bad thing.
I can no longer walk to a box (or a shelf) and find the book I need. I have to search through multiple boxes, wasting my scarce and precious free time to find anything. Seriously it took me close to an hour, and a good dozen trips up and down the stairs just to fill up the two shelves in the picture above! This is why they are thrown up there without any order. I am exhausted at this point, and I still have a house to clean and errands to run. It’s a miracle I find anything in the mess that my books, and I, have caused! I seriously do not have time to waste an hour hunting down the right novel! I need them to have easy access, and to have a home, ASAP. I cannot live in this nightmare another day.
It’s time I take inventory.
It’s time…that I get rid of some of my precious babies.
I may need you to hold my hand.
