Iron Stars Mistress

First order of busines, I have two sets of winners to announce. So here they are:

  1. The winner of the first two novels in Carolyn Brown’s Lucky series – Lucky in Love and One Lucky Cowboy – is…BEVERLY G!
  2. The winner of Kelly Gay’s The Better Part of Darkness is…Sara M!

Congratulations ladies!

Check out the cover I found over at Lovin’ Me Some Romance. It’s the cover for Joey W. Hill’s upcoming The Vampire Mistress.  This will be the fifth book in Hill’s Vampire Queen series and will be released May 2010.

Have you ever wanted your own stun gun?  SyFy’s Sanctuary is auctioning off one of their season 2 Sonic Stunners which was used in three episodes.  They are talking about redesigning the stunner for season 3 with less of a steampunk look, so this is definitely worth it for anyone who wants to shell out over $600 for it.

Interviews:

Check out the fabulous cover Marjorie Liu has for her tenth Dirk & Steele novel, The Stars Below. Is this not fabulous?  I am loving the fish tail and all the colors.  There’s not a blurb for this one yet, but we can expect to find it on shelves sometime in June 2010.

Bitten by Books has their latest poll up and this time they are wondering who the Vilest Villain is.  Quite honestly, of the villains they have posted, I don’t know if I would call them vile.  At least the ones I know.  They seem more self-centered than vile.

Gena Showalter has posted the blurb for her second YA novel, Unraveled, which comes out September 2010.

Contest Alert: Rachel Vincent is giving away the first four books in her Shifters series.  Contest ends Nov 24th.

Ellz Readz has announced the plan for a 12 Blogs of Christmas.  This is a great contest that’s going to span 12 different blogs with each site having a prize (LE is participating and I have a good one lined up). However, Elie is missing one blog to round it out. Interested in joining?

Grasping for Wind has posted another fabulous Inside the Blogosphere. This time, John asked fellow bloggers what they thought were the worst endings in SF/F/H.

Dark Faerie Tales is really starting to add to my TBR list.  Angela has posted the cover for The Iron King by Julie Kagawa and man does it look good.  This will be the first book in Kagawa’s Iron Fey series and will be released February 1, 2010.  You can read an excerpt here, but you have got to see this blurb, it sounds fabulous.

MEGHAN CHASE HAS A SECRET DESTINY— ONE SHE COULD NEVER HAVE IMAGINED…

Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan’s life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She has never quite fit in at school…or at home.

When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan senses that everything she’s known is about to change.

But she could never have guessed the truth—that she is the daughter of a mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she’ll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face…and to find love with a young prince who might rather see her dead than let her touch his icy heart.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

Jackie, should I be expecting an e-mail from you or are you expecting an e-mail from me? Just wondering because the post doesn’t say. :)
