The Bookworms Carnival deadline is coming up.  So if you have a review of a Historical Fiction novel that you would like to submit, make sure you email me your link!

Interviews:

  • Angela James, Executive Editor At Samhain Publishing, by The Galaxy Express
  • Yasmine Galenorn, author of the Sisters of the Moons series, by Fairy Findings
  • Maria Murnane, author of Perfect on Paper, by American Bibliophile

CONTEST ALERT – Justin Gustainis is guest blogging over at Bitten by Books and he has a contest for a copy of Evil Ways, which isn’t going to be released until Dec 30th.

Suburban Vampire has the trailer for Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Undead, which will be played at the Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, January 19 and 22.

The Book Spot is asking a very good question:  What’s your opinion on some book contests now being for ‘readers’ only and not reviewers? And does that include blog reviewers (like me)? For me, I think this would be kind of hard to differentiate.  I’m a reviewer, but I do it because I love to read, not to try and earn money at it (although, if there was a way to do that, I’m so there).  All the books I review are either ones I’ve gotten from the library, bought, or have won via contests. There are a few authors who have contacted me in the past, but it doesn’t happen all that often.  Plus, I’ve never gone out to solicit for ARCs (is that even kosher?), so I’m not getting any books any differently than anyone else.  Although, I will say that there is one publicist that is good to me, but other than her, I’m on my own.  So what does everyone else think?  Should reviewers be excluded from some contests?

I don’t think reviewers should be excluded especially if they’re blog reviewers because a lot of them do it for the love of reading. A lot of them like yourself don’t get money from all the set up and time they take to read through books and it’d be cool for them to be able to enter some contests to win goodies.

Thanks so very much for the linkage to my interview with Angela James!
