Night Season by E. Wilks

I just got through with Night Season, the fourth novel in the World of the Lupi series by Eileen Wilks. Again, we spend time in another realm other than Earth, but unlike Mortal Danger, this one was more interesting and entertaining. This time, our narrator is Cynna Weaver who is requested to find a missing artifact. Although I should say request is not exactly the way she was asked…more like kidnapped along with five others. They end up in Edge, a realm that is primarily ruled by gnomes, and begin a journey that will introduce them to new people and new emotions. We also meet back up with Nathan and Kai, who we met in Inhuman, which was Wilks contribution in On the Prowl.

Overall, I really enjoyed this novel. The books’ plot kept moving along at a moderate pace, we received more insight to the ongoing plot, and there was never a chance to be bored. After enjoying Tempting Danger, Mortal Danger kind of let me down, but since then, I have been completely entranced by this series. I can’t wait until Mortal Sins comes out March 2009. Until then, we’ll just have to wait and whet our appetite with the novella Eileen Wilks has put on her website. If you haven’t read Night Season, make sure you do before you read Cyncerely Yours.

I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
