I’ve been racking my brain, trying to think up a great theme for August when it literally hit me.  As in this 11×14 canvas board of 40 author signatures that fell onto my desk from where it’s be leaning against the wall since May.  That’s right, the RT Author Board is our August New Authors Mini Challenge!

For June, Literary Escapism held a mini challenge featuring the débutantes, the virgins, the first-timers and the goal was to read up to 5 new authors sometime during the month.
Within 30 days, 5 bloggers discovered 19 new authors and read 19 different novels, which resulted in 19 reviews showing up on the web.  Not only did everyone post these reviews on their own blogs, but it appears that all the reviews were posted at least in one other location.  This would definitely be a first for the New Authors Mini-Challenge …

I love reading challenges and I always sign up for a bunch at the begining of the year with every intention of completely them. For the last two years, I’ve done rather well and have completed at least 90-95% of them. This year, however, I know that’s not going to happen. Of the eight I signed up for this year, I know I’m not going to get to two of them and I don’t want to pretend I will. So I’m calling quits on these challenges …
