Clairvoyance, Nalini Singh, Psionics, Reviews, Shapeshifters »
I have been anxiously awaiting the sixth Psy-Changeling novel by Nalini Singh and Branded by Fire was just as awesome as I knew it would be.
Though DarkRiver sentinel Mercy is feeling the pressure to mate, she savagely resists when Riley Kincaid, a lieutenant from the SnowDancer pack, tries to possess her. The problem is not simply that he pushes her buttons; the problem is that he’s a wolf, she’s a cat, and they’re both used to being on top.
But when a brilliant changeling researcher is kidnapped from DarkRiver territory, Mercy and Riley must work together to track the young man—before his shadowy captors decide he’s no longer useful. Along the way, the two dominants may find that submitting to one another uncovers not just a deadly conspiracy, but a passion so raw that it’ll leave them …
Michelle Bardsley, Psionics, Reviews, Vampires, Werewolves »
Michele Bardsley is not a new author for me, but her Broken Heart, OK series is new. I just finished the first novel, I’m the Vampire, That’s Why and I have to say, I have a lot of mixed feelings about it. I can’t say that it’s a bad novel, because it’s not. It’s a great take on vampires and actually gives a new environment for a vampire.
There’s a new breed of soccer mom in town-with fangs.
Does drinking blood make me a bad mother? That’s the question single mom Jessica Matthews faces when she wakes from a savage attack sucking on the thigh of Patrick O’Halloran, a super-hot Irish vampire who’d generously offered his femoral artery to save her from death…only to make her one of the undead.
Jessica can’t rest until the beast that did …
Clairvoyance, Marjorie Liu, Psionics, Reviews, Shapeshifters »
The second novel in Marjorie Liu’s Dirk & Steele series, Shadow Touch was a really good read. When I first read Tiger Eye, I wasn’t all that impressed (it reminded me too much of Fantasy Lover by Sherrilyn Kenyon), but after reading Shadow Touch, I can say that has changed.
Shadow Touch revolves around Artur, who we met in Tiger Eye, and a new gifted individual by the name of Elena. The two go through an experience that every gifted person fears – experimentation. Luckily, they end up escaping from the laboratory along with three other individuals and end up traveling cross country in order to stop a meeting. Through their travels, Artur and Elena end up learning more about each other than they ever thought they would share.
This time around, …
Ann Aguirre, Outer Space, Psionics, Reviews »
I am really loving this series by Ann Agurire. Wanderlust is the second novel in her Sirantha Jax series and it picks up where Grimspace leaves off.
Jax has been separated from her crew while the Conglomerate investigates Farwan’s involvement in the Sargasso crash. After finally getting all the endless interrogations over with, Jax is finally reunited with her crew, including her lover March, and is given an offer she really can’t refuse. As a new ambassador for the Conglomerate (after all, how else is she going to jump without a job), she’s given the task of going to Vel’s home world as a diplomatic emissary and negotiate their entry into the Conglomerate. This should be easy, but since it’s our girl Jax, it’s anything but. There are individuals who don’t …
Nalini Singh, Psionics, Reviews, Shapeshifters »
The fifth novel in Nalini Singh’s Psy-Changeling series, Hostage to Pleasure introduces us to Dorian, the latent shifter of the DarkRiver clan, and Ashaya, an M-Psy scientist who is working on one of the Councils top projects. In Mine to Possess, we get a brief glimpse at Ashaya when she helps Talin rescue a couple of kids from an experiment being done in her lab. However, we really get to know her when she calls in the debts owed to her by the DarkRiver clan.
I’m not sure what I think about this addition to the Psy-Changeling series. I think I got myself too hyped up about Hostage to Pleasure because while it was good, it’s not sticking with me like the other novels have. Although, I haven’t read the other …
