Ghosts, MaryJanice Davidson, Reviews, Vampires, Werewolves »
I finally got my hands on the new MaryJanice Davidson novel, Undead and Unworthy. It’s the seventh book in the Queen Betsy series and I have to say it wasn’t as great as her previous novels. There’s nothing about the book that is standing out for me, so here’s a synopsis:
No one does humorous romantic fantasy better than the incomparable MaryJanice Davidson” (The Best Reviews), and nobody reigns over the undead with more savvy than her heroine Betsy Taylor, back to rule the nights as Vampire Queen and survive the days as a new suburban bride. But it’s not all marital bliss. Betsy’s husband, Sinclair, has been perusing The Book of the Dead, Betsy’s being hounded by a ghost who’s even more insufferable in death than in life, and a pack of …
Demons, Dragons, Reviews, Stephanie Rowe »
First off, I have to admit that I read the second novel, Must Love Dragons, in Stephanie Rowe’s Immortal series first. For some reason, the library couldn’t find Date Me, Baby, One More Time, but I finally got my hands on it and I have to say, it was okay. We’re introduced to Justine Bennett, the Guardian of the Goblet of Eternal Youth, and Derek LaValle, who is cursed to die on his 32nd birthday. His only solution…kill the guardian and the curse will be lifted.
The premise is kind of interesting, but I really wasn’t thrown into the novel all that much. The characters were not really developed; we were just thrown into their lives with a little background information, but were given nothing of their personalities. Over the course of the …

I thought I would put a list out there of different series that are, in my opinion, good. They may not be the greatest to everyone, but they are an enjoyable read. This is just a list of what I have read, so this list may grow over time. There’s quite a few and in many different genres, so if you have any you would like to add, let me know. Here’s the list.
Demons, Dragons, Katie MacAlister, Magic, Reviews, Shapeshifters »
Honestly, I’m not really sure what to say about this series. The Aisling Grey, Guardian series by Katie MacAlister is one of my favorites. It’s one of those reads that’s easy to pick up when you’re looking for something to read and you’re not wanting anything heavy. The plot moves along and there’s rarely, if ever, a slow spot. There’s plenty of humor with a wise-cracking demon newfie who doesn’t know when to keep quiet as well as a smoky romance between Aisling and a green dragon. When I first read this series, I was constantly laughing and there were times I had a hard time putting down her books. If you’re looking for something light, then this is definitely a must.

MaryJanice Davidson, Reviews, Vampires, Werewolves »
Undead and Uneasy is the latest installment in the Betsy Taylor series by MaryJanice Davidson. While I’m a big fan of this series, I have to say I wasn’t that crazy about this contribution. It just seemed like the main character, Betsy, did more complaining and there wasn’t that much action. Maybe I’m moving more away from the romance genre into the fantasy/science fiction genre than I thought, but this novel was really light reading. Let’s put it this way, I picked it up from the library this morning (around noon) and I’ve already finished it (about 10pm) even while taking care of Ian this morning. Light reading. Don’t get me wrong, I still like the series, but every series has one book that is iffy and I think this one is it.
