For the past two years, Jenn has lived and trained at Spain’s Sacred Heart Academy Against the Cursed Ones. She is among the few who have pledged to defend humanity or die trying. But the vampires are gaining power and the battle has only begun.

Forced to return home after death takes a member of the family, Jenn discovers that San Francisco is now a vampire strong-hold. As a lone hunter apart from her team, Jenn is isolated–and at risk. She craves the company of her fighting partner, Antonio: his protection, his reassurance, his touch. But a relationship with Antonio comes with its own dangers, and the more they share of themselves, the more Jenn stands to lose.

Then Jenn is betrayed by one who was once bound to protect her, causing her to doubt all she had held as true. To survive, Jenn must find the courage to trust herself–and her heart.

Jess Haines Contest Winners!
While I was at the RT Booklovers Convention, I had the amazing opportunity to talk with Jess Haines, author of the Hunted by the Others.  While she was here, we decided to give away a copy of Hunted by the Others to a lucky winner.  In order to enter, everyone had to answer the question: How would you fight against a supernatural if you didn’t have any powers? What kind of powers would you want to have in a fight? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

MELISSA P who said: With no superpowers, my only alternative would be to sick my toddler on them. His ferocious biting, kicking and “no” skilz would take care of the deadliest opponent.

If I got to choose a superpower? I’d probably pick some sort of freeze-ray. The best offense is a good defense and all that…

Congratulations Melissa!  You have one week to send me an email at jackie AT literaryescapism DOT com, otherwise I’ll draw a new name when I post the current contest winners next weekend.

As always, I determined the winners by inputting all the entries into the List Randomizer, scrambling it up a couple of times, and then had the Research Randomizer pick a number.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Ah, you love me! ; ) Thanks, fellow Jackie. You are the wind beneath my wings, the ties in my sneakers, the underwire in my bra of life!

  2. Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is valuable and all. However just imagine if you added some great images or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with pics and video clips, this blog could undeniably be one of the greatest in its field. Good blog!
