Betsy Goes Teenage

So the cover for the new Betsy novel, Undead and Unworthy, by MaryJanice Davidson is out. I personally don’t like it. I adore the previous covers and the UK version. The UK version is more in tune with what the books have previous looked liked, but the the US publishers thought Betsy needed a makeover. I think they went in the wrong direction. I’ve seen other paranormal romance covers that did a lot better with the covers and this one just screams teenage angst.

I initially picked up the books because the covers seemed more in tune with the snippets on the back. There may be other books that have the similar look as Betsy, but I gave them a chance because Betsy ended up being so good. Looking at the new cover, it doesn’t make me want to buy it. I would probably end up passing it over if I didn’t know it was Betsy. :( I’ll probably try and get my hands on the UK cover.

In other goods, MaryJanice did say that the publishers pushed up the release date by a week. They didn’t want the book to go on sale during a period of time when consumers are spending their money fireworks and other things that go boom instead of books. Undead and Unworthy will now be out June 24th.
