Vampireland Mercy

The Paperback Dolls are definitely keeping me up with all the cover goodness. Check out what they found – it’s Cheyenne McCray’s third Night Tracker novel, Vampires Not Invited, which comes out November 30th.  For more cover goodness, make sure you head over to Dark Faerie Tales, All Things Urban Fantasy and Babbling About Books.

Stacia Kane has posted an excerpt for her third Downside Ghosts novel, City of Ghosts, which comes out July 27th.

Nalini Singh has posted an excerpt for her latest Psy-Changeling novel, Play of Passion, which comes out this November.

Interviews:

As we’ve all heard, the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead has been optioned for either film or television and to help boost the chances of us actually seeing it produced, Preger Entertainment has created a Facebook Page to help spread the word.  They are not far from hitting the 10k mark, so hopefully a studio will see that this could be a good thing.

Check out the cover shininess Ann Aguirre has unleashed.  Razorland is Aguirre’s new YA series featuring a tough girl heroine, Deuce, and the brooding emo boy, Fade, who live in the subterranean tunnels of a dystopian post-apocalyptic world.  Razorland is due to be released sometime this winter.  Ann has also posted the first two chapters for anyone who wants to take a peek.

Fabulous news for us book bloggers.  HarperCollins has joined NetGalley and will be including title from Avon, William Morrow, and Eos.

So who caught the new SyFy show, Haven, last friday?  What did you think?  io9 pretty much sums up my thoughts.  There was nothing special about it and I won’t be rushing to the tv every friday night to watch it.

Bitten by Books has another fabulous poll running.  This time, they are wondering which July release has the best Paranormal/UF cover.

Congratulations to Book Chick City who is celebrating one year of blogging with a few contests.

Babbling About Books has another WTFckry post up and as always, Katie seems to find the weirdest things.

Ilona Andrews has announced the title for the fifth Kate Daniels novel – Magic Slays.  Does this mean we’re getting closer to actually reading the whole thing?

Marta Acosta has some fabulous news.  Tor Books has bought The Shadow Girl of Birch Grove!!  Which means if you haven’t read it for free on Scribd, something tells me you won’t be able to for much longer.  That, however, is great news for Marta – Congratulations!

Melissa Marr has unleashed the semi-final cover for the final Wicked Lovely novel, Darkest Mercy, which comes out Febraury 22, 2011.  From what Melissa says, it sounds like the vines will be the only thing changed in the final version, but regardless, this cover is hot!  I do have to say, I’ll be sad to see this series end.  It’s one of the very few YA series that I look forward to.

Rachel Vincent has posted small snippets from two of her upcoming novels – Alpha (October 1st) and My Soul to Steal (January 1st).

Yasmine Galenorn has a great surprise for readers of the Sisters of the Moon series.  Starting July 30th, the Moon Daughters web comic will begin appearing on a weekly basis, following the daily lives of Camille, Delilah, Menolly, Maggie and Iris.  You’ll only be able to see it on Yasmine’s website, so make sure you have it bookmarked.

Check out the fabulous news Vampire Wire had last week.  I can’t believe I missed this.  Darque Reviews is back!  Kimberly took some time off last fall and it’s fabulous news that she’s back.

Jeanne Stein has a short story, The Ghost of Leadville, posted up at Tor.com.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
