Book Blogger Hop

I’m not a consistent participant of the Blogger Hop, but this weeks question had me wanting to join in. First off….

In the spirit of the Twitter Friday Follow, the Book Blogger Hop (hosted by Crazy For Books) is a place just for book bloggers and readers to connect and find new book-related blogs that we may be missing out on! This weekly BOOK PARTY is an awesome opportunity for book bloggers to connect with other book lovers, make new friends, support each other, and generally just share our love of books! It will also give blog readers a chance to find other book blogs that they may not know existed!

The question this week is Right this instant, what book are you dying to get your hands on (past, present or future)? and all of us at Literary Escapism are jumping in.

Honestly, the book I was dying to get my hands on would have to be Diana Gabaldon’s An Echo in the Bone.  I mean, c’mon, five years is a long time to wait and to finally have the release date close was killing me.  It is the one series that I have gone out the day it’s released and buy the hardcover.  I’ve gone through 2 sets of paperbacks for this book.  I love the Outlander series.  Sadly, even though I own it and was desperately waiting for it, I still haven’t opened it yet.  A hardcover is just so hard to tote around and read, especially when you’re racing after a 3 year old.  So that’s why I now have it for my Kindle as well.  *grin*  Without having read it, An Echo in the Bone is totally worth having two copies on hand.

Jamie Fraser is an eighteenth-century Highlander, an ex-Jacobite traitor, and a reluctant rebel in the American Revolution. His wife, Claire Randall Fraser, is a surgeon—from the twentieth century. What she knows of the future compels him to fight. What she doesn’t know may kill them both.

With one foot in America and one foot in Scotland, Jamie and Claire’s adventure spans the Revolution, from sea battles to printshops, as their paths cross with historical figures from Benjamin Franklin to Benedict Arnold.

Meanwhile, in the relative safety of the twentieth century, their daughter, Brianna, and her husband experience the unfolding drama of the Revolutionary War through Claire’s letters. But the letters can’t warn them of the threat that’s rising out of the past to overshadow their family.

The reason that I’m looking forward to Mockingjay is because if it’s anything like the first two books than I’m definitely going to love it. This is the last book in the Hunger Games trilogy, and I’m excited to see what’s going to happen.

Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has survived the Hunger Games twice. But now that she’s made it out of the bloody arena alive, she’s still not safe. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Who do they think should pay for the unrest? Katniss. And what’s worse, President Snow has made it clear that no one else is safe either. Not Katniss’s family, not her friends, not the people of District 12. Powerful and haunting, this thrilling final installment of Suzanne Collins’s groundbreaking The Hunger Games trilogy promises to be one of the most talked about books of the year.

The next Rachel Morgan book. LOL

I know that is not very exciting but she is my favorite after all :P

Fat Vampire looks quirky and fun, I can’t wait for it to be released on July 27th! I think it’s going to be a quick read, that I can just completely lose myself in. Plus, it looks at vampires from an angle that I’ve never seen before. I’m looking forward to reading a different perspective. :)

Doug Lee is undead quite by accident—attacked by a desperate vampire, he finds himself cursed with being fat and fifteen forever. When he has no luck finding some goth chick with a vampire fetish, he resorts to sucking the blood of cows under cover of the night. But it’s just not the same.

Then he meets the new Indian exchange student and falls for her—hard. Yeah, he wants to bite her, but he also wants to prove himself to her. But like the laws of life, love, and high school, the laws of vampire existence are complicated—it’s not as easy as studying Dracula. Especially when the star of Vampire Hunters is hot on your trail in an attempt to boost ratings. . . .

Searing, hilarious, and always unexpected, Fat Vampire is a satirical tour de force from one of the most original writers of fiction today.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

    • Yeah, I have to say I’m looking forward to Pale Demon too. Although, the Hollows Graphic will have Kisten in it, so I’m torn between the two.

  1. Haha! I feel so gimpy now that I see all of your answers! lol

Thats the one book that I would so want my hands on though! :P

  2. I love the idea of the graphic novels but I think it sort of ruins the vision I have of all of the characters at the same time =/
