I have some fabulous news…Literary Escapism made the long list for the Book Bloggers Appreciation Week 2010 (BBAW)!
I have to say, I’m kind of excited for making the long list this year. There were some issues with the nomination process last year, but Amy and friends totally revamped them and this year the long list was compiled by other bloggers in the same niche category. Which means, when I registered for the Best Speculative Fiction category, I could only vote in the Speculative Fiction category. That means LE was nominated by other Speculative Fiction bloggers. That’s the part I am the most excited about. I must be doing something right…there are times I wonder about that. *grin* So with that:

This is only the first phase of the awards process. The next step is for the panel judges to do their thing with the six blogs that made it in this category (out of 30+). So, I’m not expecting to make it past this stage, not considering who my competition is. Plus the fact that I didn’t last year. I do have to say I am in with some amazing company this year – All Things Urban Fantasy, Dark Faerie Tales, Neth Space, The Book Smugglers and Wicked Lil Pixie – and I fully expect one of them to take the prize.
LE also registered for the Best Written and Best Author Interview categories and I’m happy to say we were long listed in those categories as well along with:

CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who made the long list! I am definitely in with some great company, and those I’m not familiar with, I will be soon. The BBAW is just around the corner and I have no doubt it’ll be just as much fun as last year. Although, I do need to figure out which books I’m offering up for grabs this year. Oh yeah, LE will be doing the daily contests during the celebrations so make sure you check back later in August to see what I’ve grabbed from the prize pool I’ve developed.
