When I first picked up this book I knew it was an erotica novel, but something about the cover just screamed *Porno!*. I totally did not expect much from Beauty’s Beasts and boy was I surprised!!
Riley Carson Connors is yanked out of Pittsburgh and coaxed to New York by two tall, sexy strangers. Nicholas and Damian are the only people in the world who know anything about her mother and father, and what they know is terrifying. She must face a powerful enemy who killed both her parents, who were the best at what they did.
But while the truth about Riley’s family history is a powerful magnet, Damian and Nicholas prove to be even more compelling. Former lovers brought together because they gave their word to Riley’s mother, the two powerful vampires play erotic mind games with her, each hiding a sexual agenda that Riley can’t begin to guess.
But it seems to involve driving her out of her mind with the sort of pleasure only a centuries-old lover would know how to give.
If there’s anything that I have learned from reading Beauty’s Beasts, it’s that I definitely should not judge a book by its cover! I do try not to, but I guess it’s just a bad habit of mine. Beauty’s Beasts starts off with Riley Carson and her roommate discussing the guy at their front door; apparently Riley is so beautiful and irresistible that she has suitors lining up at her doorstep. This has to be the only thing about Beauty’s Beasts that bothered me because the way she describes it, it feels like there is some sort of magic that’s making all of these men just have to have her – but in no way does it explain it.
So, Riley meets two very hot vampires who just so happened to know her parents, and also know more about her then they are letting on. They convince her, after many questions, to go with them to learn about her very important role she has to play – as well as learning more about her parents. As a matter of fact, that’s the only reason Riley agrees to go is to learn more about her parents (much to the disapproval of her roommate).
This is where the story gets interesting as Riley realizes that these vampires are not like normal men, in that they fall all over her wanting to have her. She also finds out that vampires can smell/sense her arousal and mood changes and this puts her at a huge disadvantage because she can’t help but want Damian and Nick.
Along with the romance story between Damian, Nick and Riley there is such a wonderfully intriguing plot – which for an erotica novel is quite impressive! I was expecting some plot line but really not much and I was so pleasantly surprised! Riley’s training was a bit rushed for my tastes as I don’t believe someone thrust into a world of monsters can be ready inside a week to defeat the villain who killed her parents. However, letting that slide because she obviously has it in her blood, I thought the plot line was engrossing and actually hope there are more books to come for this series.
Being an erotica novel I had high expectations for the sex scenes in Beauty’s Beasts, and boy did Ceagh deliver! The first scene had me weak at the knees and it wasn’t even a full blown instance! I feel saying any more regarding the intimate details will spoil the book so I will leave it at that.
Overall the sex was A-MAZING, the plot line was great (if just a few little bumps here and there) and the characters were engaging in Beauty’s Beasts. I do not normally like erotica novels but Teal Ceagh delivers a wonderfully written story with great sex that had me hooked from page 1. I will definitely be looking for more from Ceagh.
