Contest: Hush Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick

Have you read Hush, Hush by Becca Fitzpatrick yet?

Hush HushA sacred oath, a fallen angel, a forbidden love.

Nora Grey has had a rough year. Her father was murdered and as a result, her mother had thrown herself into work, leaving Nora alone most of the time in their secluded farmhouse. Despite this, she manages to be a very good girl, never missing school, never even driving without permission.

But when the transfer student, Patch, gets assigned as her lab partner in biology, from the moment the two are together, there’s an inescapable magnetism that draws Nora deeper and deeper into his dark world. When she discovers the enormous V-shaped scars on his back, she discovers that there is a battle going on between the fallen and the immortal. And she’s the object.

The magnetism she feels is now more inescapable than ever.

Want to? The wonderful people at Simon & Schuster want to make sure people are ready for the release of Crescendo, which continues Nora and Patch’s story, and have given me two copies of Hush, Hush to give away.

If you’re like me and haven’t read it yet (which I will be rectifying soon) check out what these other bloggers have said: Dirty Smexy Books, Dark Faerie Tales, Bitten by Books, Paperback Dolls, Love Vampires, All Things Urban Fantasy, Book Chick City and Babbling About Books.

Contest Details:
Entering the contest is easy.  All you have to do is tell me what are you looking forward to in Crescendo? Or…Why do you want to read Hush, Hush? This is mainly so I don’t see “please enter me” comments.  If you want the book, prove it.  *grin*

As always, there’s more ways of getting your name in the hat (remember, these aren’t mandatory to enter, just extra entries):

  • +1 for each place you post about today’s contest on your blog, social network, or anywhere you can. Digg it, stumble it, twit it, share it with the world. Wherever you share it, make sure you add a link to it along with your answer.
  • +1 to any review you comment on, however, comments must be meaningful. Just give me the title of the review and I’ll be able to figure it out from there.
  • +1 If you are a follower of Literary Escapism on Facebook and/or Twitter
  • +10 Preorder Crescendo through LE’s Amazon store or the Book Depository sometime during this contest and send a copy of the receipt VIA email for your purchase to: jackie AT literaryescapism DOT com. Each purchase is worth ten entries.

There is one thing I am adding to my contests now…the winner must post a review of the novel someplace. Whether it is on their own blog, Amazon, GoodReads, LibraryThing or wherever, it doesn’t matter. Just help get the word out.

The contest will stay open until October 5th, at which time I’ll determine the winner with help from the Research Randomizer and the List Randomizer.

I have not been contacting winners, so you will need to check back to see if you’ve won.

And remember, Crescendo is coming out October 19th.

CrescendoNora should have know her life was far from perfect. Despite starting a relationship with her guardian angel, Patch (who, title aside, can be described anything but angelic), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking up. Patch is starting to pull away and Nora can’t figure out if it’s for her best interest or if his interest has shifted to her arch-enemy Marcie Millar. Not to mention that Nora is haunted by images of her father and she becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened to him that night he left for Portland and never came home.

The farther Nora delves into the mystery of her father’s death, the more she comes to question if her Nephilim blood line has something to do with it as well as why she seems to be in danger more than the average girl. Since Patch isn’t answering her questions and seems to be standing in her way, she has to start finding the answers on her own. Relying too heavily on the fact that she has a guardian angel puts Nora at risk again and again. But can she really count on Patch or is he hiding secrets darker than she can even imagine?

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Thanks for hosting! I have heard a ton about Hush Hush. I work in a high school media center and it is checked out all the time. The kids are already asking for the sequel. So…that’s why I would love to win a copy of my own – so I can quit waiting for one to become available at school.

  7. I’m looking forward to reading Hush, Hush. I’ve read some great reviews about it and the story sounds intriguing. Oh and the cover is awesome!

  8. So, I had read this book way back when I was able to acquire a copy of it on Bookmooch (good times!). Anyway, I really want my own copy of it now because when I had the ARC, my friend wanted so much more than I did at the time that, well, she had to have it. At the time, I really don’t believe I got it’s full awesome-ness. And now that Crescendo’s coming out, when would be a better time to get back in touch with Hush, Hush?

  12. I haven’t read Hush, Hush yet, but can’t wait to! Not only is the premise exciting (love reading about angels, especially fallen ones, they add some dangerous excitement to the character and story), but the cover is gorgeous! I could put it up as a poster and just stare at it!

And after reading what controversies the novel brought up I’m even more curious and eager to read it!
