Fledgling Handbook 101I’m not sure if this made the rounds yet or not, but I’m digging the cover PC Cast has for her House of Night novel, Fledgling Handbook 101, which is due out next week.

Have you read Kalayna Price’s Grave Witch?  Was there something you want to know?  Kalayna will be answering readers questions on her site later in the week.

The Biting Edge found some fantastic news on Variety. Charlaine Harris’ Harper Connelly books are being developed for a television show on CBS. The show will be called Grave Sight, after the first novel, and produced by Ridley Scott, Tony Scott, Naren Shankar (CSI), David Zucker and Kam Miller (Law and Order: SVU).  No word on when it will premier.

Peter Jackson has finally annouced the case for The Hobbit. You can find out the details at either io9 or SciFi Wire.

Meljean Brook is still trying to tempt your wallet with a few more steampunk novels.

American VampireTez Says is showing off a few shiny new covers.  One of which is for Jennifer Armintrout’s American Vampire.  This is the first I’ve heard of it, but American Vampire will be released February 22, 2011.

Welcome to Penance, Ohio – hell on earth! Peter’s a vampire, and he loves it. He’s free to indulge his every dark, dangerous and debauched whim. Until a road trip takes him somewhere he never expected. Now he’s trapped in Penance, a town that no-one has been able to leave for five years. And he’s stuck protecting Jessa who’s beautiful, tempting…and very, very human! The townsfolk know she’s tied to their troubles and don’t look kindly on strangers, meaning Peter and Jessa have only each other to rely on. Which is making it harder for Peter to control his desire to devour her…But if he can keep his bloodlust in check, their bond could be the key to uncovering the secrets that lurk within Penance and delivering the town from it’s curse.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
