August & September Contest Winners

For all of my August and September contest winners, all of your information has either been forwarded on or your books are currently packaged and waiting for me to go to the post office on Wednesday.  That is, for those who have contacted me.  Sadly, not everyone did, so I had to redraw a few names.  But, before we do, did you see that Laura Bickle stopped by LE last week and she’s giving away three copies of Sparks. Her contest ends tomorrow, so if you want in, click here.

I’ll be announcing last weeks winners later today.  Now, on to some new winners…

Bayou Moon Contest

Thanks to the generous people at ACE, I had an extra copy of Bayou Moon looking for a new home. In order to enter, everyone had to answer the question: What September release are you waiting for? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

PAMK. who said: I am looking forward to No Mercy by Sherrilyn Kenyon and Atlantis Betrayed by Alyssa Day, Robin D. Owens newest and unfornately for my bank book lots more lol.

Congratulations Pam!

Carolyn Crane

Double CrossI had the talented Carolyn Crane on Literary Escapism during August with a fabulous test to detect paranormal abilities in infants. While she was here, we gave away a signed copy of either Mind Games or Double Cross – winner’s choice. In order to enter, everyone had to answer the question: Now, without further ado, the winner is:

SEANNA LEA (from Anouther Purl) who said: I don’t have any kiddos, but if I did I would probably want mix. Fae would be nice, because that could give that a wonderful outlook on life and a relatively sunny dispostion. On the other hand, it would appear from many descriptions of the Fae to make it incredibly hard for them to keep down a job. Fae babies might make up 50% of those living in their parent’s basement past the age of 35. Vampire babies might end up more responsible or more like a wild hellion. It’s so hard to choose!

Congratulations Seanna Lea!

Eloisa James

I had the talented Eloisa James on Literary Escapism talking about her Cinderella story, A Kiss at Midnight. While she was here, we gave away a signed copy of Duchess By Night. In order to enter, everyone had to answer the question: What is your favorite aspect of the Cinderella tale? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

CHEY who said: My favourite part of Cinderella is her Fairy Godmother. It’s nice to think everyone has someone watching over them.

Congratulations Chey!

Hush Hush

The wonderful people at Simon & Schuster want to make sure people are ready for the release of Crescendo, which continues Nora and Patch’s story, and gave me two copies of Hush, Hush to give away. I was able to give away one, but I still have one left.  In order to enter, everyone had to answer the question: what are you looking forward to in Crescendo? Or…Why do you want to read Hush, Hush? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

STELLA (from Ex Libris) who said: I haven’t read Hush, Hush yet, but can’t wait to! Not only is the premise exciting (love reading about angels, especially fallen ones, they add some dangerous excitement to the character and story), but the cover is gorgeous! I could put it up as a poster and just stare at it!

And after reading what controversies the novel brought up I’m even more curious and eager to read it!

Congratulations Stella!

Jeaniene Frost

I had the talented Jeaniene Frost on Literary Escapism talking about beginnings. While she was here, we gave away three copies of Eternal Kiss of Darkness to three lucky readers. In order to enter, everyone had to answer the question: Now, without further ado, the winner is:

JMSPETTOLI who said: I don’t think I have a favourite beginning because usually I get so nervous and exited when I start something new that it all just goes by in a blur that later gives me a sense of “Oh, what just happened?”. But if I had to pick something I would say I first time I read a book on my own.

HEATHER B (from Everybody Needs a Little Romance) who said: I think that the 1st book in series definitely has to have a good beginning and catch your attention. so much of the 1st book is used for world building that it is important not to forget that the reader needs more than just information about the world in that first book/chapters.

VICKI B (from Vixen’s Daily Reads) who said: re: What do you think about beginnings, readers? I like beginnings.

re:Am I stressing too much over them? I think maybe so just an eensy bit. But I like that you are stressing because that means you aren’t resting on your laurels knowing your fans dig what you write and will read whatever you write. We will, because it’s good.

re:Does a slow or bad beginning make you put a book down, or do you soldier on through several chapters first? It depends if it’s a new to me author or someone I trust. If it’s a new author and I’ve heard some good things about said author, then I’ll continue. If it’s an author I trust, then I carry on for a little while.
If the rest of the 50 pages that is my cutoff, I use my ‘life is too short’ rule and set the book aside.

Congratulations Jmspettoli, Heather and Vicki!

Jennifer Estep

Jennifer had a few questions to ask Jennifer Estep about her latest release, Venom. While she was here, we gave away a signed copy of Venom to a lucky reader. In order to enter, everyone had to answer the question: Who can you see playing Gin and/or Finn on film? Or simply ask Jennifer a question? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

SCORPIO M who said: I don’t really keep up with current actresses but Gin would definitely have to have the athletic thing going on. Jen Gardner I can see! I really love this series!

Congratulations Scorpio!

Jocelynn Drake

Wait for DuskI had the talented Jocelynn Drake on Literary Escapism during August sharing her exclusive short story, The Ring. While she was here, we gave away signed copies of Pray for Dawn and Wait for Dusk, to two lucky readers. I was able to give away Pray for Dawn, but Wait for Dusk is still looking for a new home.  In order to enter, all anyone had to do was simply ask Jocelynn a question Now, without further ado, the winners are:

Wait for Dusk: JESSICA S who said: I was wondering how do you decide where Mira and Danaus go? The locations are always different and I was just wondering what makes you choose the certain location? Is there any significance to the actual location that you think of to attribute to your novels?

Congratulations Jessica!

Tracey O’Hara

I had the talented Tracey O’Hara on Literary Escapism during August talking about shapeshifters, vampires and werewolves. While she was here, we gave away a copy of her new release, Night’s Cold Kiss, to one lucky reader. In order to enter, everyone had to answer the question: Which worlds do you love exploring? Or simply ask Tracey a question. Now, without further ado, the winner is:

SHARON who said: Hey Tracey! i enjoyed your book. But I must say, Viktor is one of my favorite characters . So you can imagine my pain . I get the feeling that this book started out much longer, with more details. Did you have to edit out a lot? There is so much story between Antonette and her brother and their relationship. I feel like I missed out on that. My favorite emotional parts of the story were chapter 19(trying not to give spoilers away) and 34. I felt it all . Looking forward to the next book and need to go read the prequel on you website.

Congratulations Sharon!

Winners!

You have one week to send me an email at jackie AT literaryescapism DOT com, with the contest you won in the subject line, otherwise I’ll draw a new name when I post the current contest winners next weekend.

As always, I determined the winners by inputting all the entries into the List Randomizer, scrambling it up a couple of times, and then had the Research Randomizer pick a number.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
