Child’s Play Giveaway Winners

Child's Play GiveawayOn Thanksgiving day, I launched a contest to help benefit the fabulous Child’s Play organization.  As of December 22nd, Child’s Play has raised $1,853,894.59 for their partner hospitals.  Thanks to all you fabulous readers, Literary Escapism helped contribute a total of $432.00 in toys and cash donations.  I am ecstatic that there were so many of you willing to donate to such a great cause.

I also want to thank all the fabulous authors and publishers who were willing to donate books as prizes for the giveaway:

Alexandra Ivy, Angie Fox, Annette McCleave, Anya Bast, Bell Bridge Books, Carolyn Crane, Chloe Neill, Cynthia Eden, Dakota Cassidy, Eileen Wilks, Erica Hayes, Harper Collins, Jackie Kessler, Jeaniene Frost, Jenna Black, Jeri Smith-Ready, Jess Haines, Jill Myles, Joey W Hill, Jory Strong, Kalayna Price, Karen Mahoney, Kat Richardson, Kelly Gay, Kelly Meding, Keri Arthur, Larissa Ione, Leanna Renee Heiber, Lynsay Sands, Marta Acosta, Meljean Brook, Merrie DeStefano, Michele Bardsley, Nalini Singh, Nancy Holder, Nancy Holzner, Pamela Palmer, Rachel Vincent, Shiloh Walker, Sourcebooks and Tracey O’Hara

Childs PlayJust so everyone knows, Child’s Play continues to take donations year round and the children’s hospitals can always use the toys.  For those just tuning in, the way Child’s Play works is:

With over 70 partner hospitals and more arriving every year, you can be sure to find one from the map above that needs your help! You can choose to purchase requested items from their online retailer wish lists, or make a cash donation that helps out Child’s Play partners everywhere. Any items purchased through Amazon will be shipped directly to your hospital of choice, so please be sure to select their shipping address rather than your own.

Child’s Play is in all but a few states and they are working with hospitals in Australia, Canada, Egypt, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.  So finding a hospital near you who is looking for toys shouldn’t be too hard.

Now I know what everyone is really interested in…let’s find out who all those fabulous books the authors donated are going home to.   So everyone knows, I threw all the names into the List Randomizer, scrambled them up a bit and then had the Research Randomizer pick a few numbers.  I also made sure that there wasn’t any duplicate winners and I’m happy to report that everyone who entered did win something.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Wow! That’s a lot of money raised :) I’m glad so many people donated, and I have to say congrats to the winners. :D I have to say, this was great incentive to donate to a good cause. My boyfriend kept telling me about how when he spent some time in a hospital when he was a kid that they only had a couple things to play with–but one was a PlayStation. I wonder if Child’s Play was involved in getting the hospital that!

    Happy Holidays, everyone!

  2. A great cause – I’m glad so many people donated to it. Staying in hospital is never no matter your age and giving kids something that will cheer them up is a great idea! Plus lots of yummy books – no one loses! :)
