Mercy Thompson Discussion

You remember that book discussion I did with Larissa from Larissa’s Bookish Life about Kim Harrison’s Hollows series for the Pajama Chat Readers?  Yeah, we had a lot of fun and so can’t wait until February 5th to do it again.  So Larissa and I are getting together for our own monthly book discussion and the first one will be this Friday at 9pm EST.  We’ll be discussing Patricia Brigg’s fabulous Mercy Thompson series, refreshing our minds for the next novel River Marked, which comes out March 1st.

Throughout this series, Briggs has played with her characters emotions – giving them everything from pain to love. With the next novel coming out soon, Larissa and I will be talking about everything has been happening so far and we would love to have you join us. Was there something from Moon Called that you just have to get off your chest? What about the events in Iron Kissed? I know you have something you want to get off your chest, so join us at Talk Shoe on January 21st at 9pm EST and let’s talk about it.

The call-in number is 724.444.7444.  Just to warn everyone, this will be my first time using Talk Shoe, so I’m not entirely sure what to expect.

Moon Called

Mercy Thompson’s life is not exactly normal. Her next-door neighbor is a werewolf. Her former boss is a gremlin. And she’s fixing a VW bus for a vampire. But then, Mercy isn’t exactly normal herself.

Blood Bound

A demon-riding vampire has gone on a killing spree unlike any the Tri- Cities has ever seen-and the undead and werewolves sent to stop him haven’t returned. A coyote is no match for a demon, but shapeshifting mechanic Mercy Thompson is immune to many vampiric powers-and those are her friends who are missing, including the two werewolves circling around her heart. Game on…

Iron Kissed
When her former boss and mentor is arrested for murder and left to rot behind bars by his own kind, it’s up to shapeshifting car mechanic Mercy Thompson to clear his name, whether he wants her to or not. And she’ll have to choose between the two werewolves in her life-whether she wants to or not.

Bone Crossed
Marsilia, the local vampire queen, has learned that Mercy crossed her by slaying a member of her clan. Now, she’s out for blood. But since Mercy is protected from direct reprisal by the werewolf pack-and her relationship with its sexy Alpha-it’s not Mercy’s blood Marsilia is after…

Silver Borne

Mechanic and shapeshifter Mercy Thompson never knows what the next day (or night) may bring. After all, her world is inhabited by witches, werewolves, and vampires. But now a book of fae secrets has come to light, and Mercy’s about to find out just how implacable-and dangerous- the fae can be.

River Marked

Car mechanic Mercy Thompson has always known there was something different about her, and not just the way she can make a VW engine sit up and beg. Mercy is a shapeshifter, a talent she inherited from her long-gone father. She’s never known any others of her kind. Until now.

An evil is stirring in the depths of the Columbia River-one that her father’s people may know something about. And to have any hope of surviving, Mercy and her mate, the Alpha werewolf Adam, will need their help…

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  2. Crud, I need to hurry up and read this series. Have all the books, just haven’t read them yet. If I can catch up in time, I’ll pop by for the discussion.

    • There is definitely a way to listen in; just check out the Talk Shoe page. There may be a way to chat online during the discussion as well. I know there is with BTR, so I would be surprised if there isn’t an option with TS too.

  3. Argh, cannot make chat so I pose a question: The submissive wolf, Peter I think, in Silver Borne there were some things that happened that make me think he’s actually fey (one of the shifting fey that are supposed to be dead). What do y’all think?
