Shadow Men and Shattered Souls

ShadowmanShiloh Walker has posted a snippet from her upcoming novel, If You Know Him.

Lauren Dane has been busy posting some fun things.  First up is a snippet from her novel, No Reservations.  Then there’s the first chapter for Mesmerized.  The best one is her release schedule for 2011.  Dane has a new urban fantasy set to release in June, which is set in Las Vegas.  Here’s what Dane has to say about Goddess with a Blade:

It’s not a straight romance, but there is a romantic subplot between the main character, Rowan Summerwaite and another main character, Clive Stewart. Only it’s complicated, LOL, because Rowan is the physical and spiritual human vessel to a triple goddess and she’s in charge of keeping the vampires in Las Vegas in line and obeying the treaty they’ve signed with Rowan’s employer, the Hunter Corporation.

In more release news, Dane also has a new PNR with Berkley Sensation Heart of Darkness, releasing in September.  Once and Again, which is Nathan Murhpy’s story from Petal, will be out in August.  In addition to all of this, Dane is also working on the last Phantom Corps novel, Captivated, which will be out in 2012.  Someone has a busy year ahead of them.

Author Appearances:

Shattered SoulsHow many people are waiting for Breaking Dawn to hit theaters in November?  I’m not sure if we’ll see her this year, but Renesmee has been unveiled!  io9 has a shot of Renesmee, played by Mackenzie Foy, frolicking in Edward and Bella’s flowered meadow.

According to Blastr, it seems that the next Marvel film project could involve the Black Panther.  Now I’m not well-versed in the Marvel universe, so I have no clue as to who this guy is.  Well, I can’t say that.  I’ve seen him a couple of times on the Disney XD cartoon, The Avengers.  Any thoughts?  Any fans out there happy for a Black Panther movie?

Joss Whedon talks about what readers can expect from a season 9 of Buffy.

Guys Lit Wire has a really good article describing the evolution of the literary zombie.  I would never have guessed that the zombie first showed up in a nonfiction novel after the writer took a trip to Haiti.

Galaxy Express has another fabulous roundup of all the latest in the science fiction romance world.

According to Blastr, we’ll be seeing a televised version of Wonder Woman in the near future.  It seems that NBC decided to give David Kelly’s concept a shot and he’s beginning development on a pilot as we speak.

According to Blastr, Sam Raimi may be doing an Evil Dead reboot.  Well it sounds like he is really considering it since he’s looking at a script in the near future.

Now that Marvel is shopping around the idea of a Black Panther movie, Blastr has started speculating on who could pull off the role. They have quite a few good prospects, but I think I’m going to have to back the idea of Chiwetel Ejiofor (Serenity and Children of Men). After his role in Serenity (he was the operative after River), I can totally see it.

There have been some fabulous covers popping up, especially for a few novels that have already come out. For all the new covers, I’ve added them to the FB album.

I’m not generally a fan of book trailers, but I have to say that I love the one Ilona Andrews did for Magic Slays.

I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
