Bookish Escape: Mercy Discussion

River MarkedI would love to thank everyone who came out tonight and discussed Patricia Briggs’s Mercy Thompson series with Larissa (Larissa’s Bookish Life) and I.  It was fabulous.  We totally went off on a few tangents, but I think everyone had fun so it was totally worth it.  For those who missed the discussion, you can listen to it here:

Larissa and I were the only ones live chatting about it, but there was some hilarious moments in the chat room and the transcript is just as fun to read, especially when read while listening to the chat. To read the transcript, click here.

In all of our excitement over the chat, we completely forgot to give away the two copies of Preying for Mercy, the SFBC edition of Moon Called and Blood Bound.  I’m announcing one of the winners, but in order to find out who the second winner is, you have to head over to Larissa’s Bookish Life.  So without further ado, the first one is: FictionKingdom!  Congratulations!  To claim your prize, click here.

These are definitely a blast and the topic for our second Bookish Escape discussion has been decided and it will be the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost.  On February 22nd, the fifth Night Huntress novel, This Side of the Grave, comes out. It’s been a little over a year since the last Cat & Bones novel and Larissa and I want to get back into the world. Who am I kidding…it’s Cat & Bones, we just want to talk about this fabulous series and speculate on all the changes that occurred in Destined for an Early Grave. I know we can’t be the only ones, so join us on February 18th at 9pm EST and let’s talk about it.

Destined for an Early GraveHer deadly dreams leave her in grave danger

Since half-vampire Cat Crawfield and her undead lover Bones met six years ago, they’ve fought against the rogue undead, battled a vengeful Master vampire, and pledged their devotion with a blood bond. Now it’s time for a vacation. But their hopes for a perfect Paris holiday are dashed when Cat awakes one night in terror. She’s having visions of a vampire named Gregor who’s more powerful than Bones and has ties to her past that even Cat herself didn’t know about.

Gregor believes Cat is his and he won’t stop until he has her. As the battle begins between the vamp who haunts her nightmares and the one who holds her heart, only Cat can break Gregor’s hold over her. She’ll need all the power she can summon in order to bring down the baddest bloodsucker she’s ever faced . . . even if getting that power will result in an early grave.

I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
