Trinity by L. Dane

TrinityI was in a weird mood over the weekend and I needed a really good romance to get lost in.  Not just any romance either; I wanted a menage.  So of course I went looking for a Lauren Dane novel and Trinity was perfect for my mood.

Renee Parcell loves her life. Her smoothie/coffee cart business is successful, and she’s deeply in love with her boyfriend, Galen. He makes her laugh, he’s gainfully employed, and he satisfies her as only a sexy cat shifter can. He even puts the toilet seat down. Yet they both sense something in the air. An anticipation that leaves them both unsettled.

Tall, blond and gorgeous Jack Meyers, Enforcer of National Pack and one of the most beautiful men Renee and Galen have ever seen, stumbles into Renee’s life and the riddle of their expectation is solved—Renee is Jack’s mate. What surprises them all is when the three of them touch, magick creates an unexpected triple bond of witch, cat and wolf.

Even as they learn to navigate the steamy intricacies of their bond, a threat looms over Renee. First in the form of resurrected memories, then in the shape of darker magicks someone is aiming at her. Set on stealing her inherent powers—even her life. Renee can stand to lose almost anything, except her mates. But there seems to be no talking them out of laying everything on the line for her…

Trinity was simple and sweet and just amazing.  The chemistry between Renee, Galen and Jack was not only believable, but it kept me glued to my Kindle for the majority of the day.  I loved how Galen and Renee were just so cemented into their relationship, that when Jack showed up to throw a wench into their life, they rode it out.  They never felt threaten but more intrigued to see what was going to happen.  The fact that both Renee and Galen ended up attracted to Jack just made it better.  It meant that even though Jack was mated with Renee, he was also mated with Galen, which meant that this new relationship had a lot of holes to work through.

That was probably the part I enjoyed the most.  We’re given a great romance that’s not thrown in our faces.  For these three to build a life together, when two has already started, it wasn’t easy.  Galen had to learn to trust Jack with Renee.  And hell, emotions are never an easy thing and Dane doesn’t make it so.  They make things complicated, even the most basic of actions, and we get to see Renee, Galen and Jack work through them in a realistic manner.  I feel like I’m rambling and saying the same thing; regardless, the romance of Trinity was fabulous and I loved reading about these three individual and how they strive to make their relationship work.

The other reason I always enjoy a Dane romance is because there is most definitely a plot.  It’s not an in your face type of plot and it’s very much in the background, but it’s there.  There’s just enough intrigue to add obstacles to Renee, Galen and Jack’s relationship, but still allows them to grow.  Even though the plot wasn’t that much of the story, it definitely added to the romance and left me wanting to know what was going to happen.  So of course when Dane ends Trinity the way she did, I just had to go out and buy the second novel, Revelation.

Overall, Trinity was totally what I needed for my mood and Lauren Dane once again proves that she’s a fantastic writer when it comes to romance and characters chemistry.  If you’re looking for a great romance, especially a menage, I would highly recomended getting a copy of Trinity and I would probably pick up Revelation at the same time.  Now I really need to see how the plot continues, so I’m burying myself back into Revelation.
