Looks Who’s Going to RT: Kerrelyn Sparks

Kerrelyn SparksCan you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
I’m Kerrelyn Sparks, author of the New York Times bestselling Love at Stake series (How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire). If you love paranormal romance with a mixture of suspense and comedy, then you should give the series a try. Book 10, Vampire Mine, releases at the end of March, but each book in the series stands alone, so you’re free to jump in at any point and join the fun. I write for HarperCollins (Avon Books) and live in the greater Houston area. Please check out my website at www.kerrelynsparks.com!

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
It all started with the first book, How to Marry a Millionaire Vampire, which introduced a fun world where Vamps indulge in Vampire Fusion Cuisine with drinks like Chocolood (half synthetic blood, half chocolate), Blood Lite (for those who drink too much Chocolood), or Bubbly Blood (half blood, half champagne for those special vampire occasions). Watching over the Vamps during the day are some shifters like Howard Barr, a were-bear who used to be a defensive lineman for the Chicago Bears, or Carlos, the were-panther from Brazil. In the upcoming release, Vampire Mine, angels and demons join the world, which keeps expanding so it’ll stay fun and interesting.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
I believe this will be my 5th RT. My advice– relax and enjoy it! It’s a definite win-win situation– the authors love to meet their readers, and readers love to meet the authors!

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
Yes. I’ll be doing a panel on paranormal series with Pamela Palmer and L.A. Banks. I’ll also be appearing at a Circle of Seven event and don’t forget the Avon mixer on Friday evening where Avon authors will be signing and giving away tons of free books!

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
An older woman who looks more likely to bake chocolate chip cookies than write vampire books!

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
