Looks Who’s Going to RT: Jaime Rush

Jaime RushCan you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
I’m Jaime Rush (aka Tina Wainscott), author of 24 books, 4 so far as Jaime in my Offspring series (A Perfect Darkness) for Avon Books. My series is paranormal romance/suspense about a group of outcasts who possess extraordinary psychic abilities. They must band together to find the truth and fight an enemy out to destroy them. Think X-Files meets Lost.

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
So far the books have been set in the contemporary Annapolis, MD and DC area. It’s our world, only my people have to deal with people associated with the government trying to kill them. The experiment that was done to the parents of my people is based on a couple of real-life programs our government undertook. But of course, I twisted it even more.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
I’ve been going since right after selling my first book, back in 1994. My advice is to bring comfortable shoes and please don’t be shy about coming up to authors, especially if you want to tell us how much you love our books :) We’re there to meet readers and booksellers.

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
I invite to to attend the Wild and Wacky Be a Diva party that Kayla Perrin and I put on every year. Wear your most diva-ish outfut! We provide feather boas to the first 30 people who arrive. We ask the audience wild and wacky questions, and then the cover model pageant contestants come in and we ask them to share their secrets with us. It’s a lot of fun because it’s always different, and some of those guys are just hilarious. Sometimes we learn, um, a little too much!

My favorite part is Club RT, where you can hang with readers and other authors.

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
My tag will read Tina Wainscott/Jaime Rush.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
