I have added a bunch of new release dates to the New Releases page and there were some gems. The list for 2011 is getting to be quite crowded and it just makes me wish for even more time to read. At last count, there were 536 titles coming out this year alone, and I will be adding about 50 more in the next day or so. I already have 47 scheduled for 2012 and we’re not even halfway through this year yet.
Blastr has the first teaser trailer for this summers movie, Conan the Barbarian. I wasn’t paying too much attention to it before, but I think Jason Momoa has changed my mind.
The RT Booklovers Convention is just a few weeks away and to make sure you know who will be there, Dark Faerie Tales and I have been showcasing some of the authors who will be roaming the halls. So far, we’ve seen: Adrian Phoenix, Alyson Noël, Ashlyn Chase, Beth Kery, Cat Adams, Chris Marie Green, Cynthia Vespia, Darynda Jones, Desiree Holt, F. Paul Wilson, Jade Lee, Jaime Rush, Jaye Wells, Kelley Armstrong, Kimberly Lang, Laurie London, Lizzie T. Leaf, Lydia Dare, Lynsay Sands, Marcella Burnard, Maureen Betita, Rachel Caine, Stephanie Draven, Tamara Hogan, Terri Garey and Theresa Meyers

Carolyn Crane has announced that she is taking part in a new ebook anthology, titled Wild and Steamy, involving series spinoffs. Her story will feature Sophia and the Monk and can be read without having read her Disillusionist series (although why you haven’t read them when Carolyn is awesome is beyond me).
Trading Cards! It seems to be the newest promo gimmick around and a few authors are taking part. Allison Pang talks about this new craze and shows off her awesome cards. I’ll be honest, even LE has joined the craze with our own Limited Edition LE/DFT trading cards.
Going through Tor’s Steampunk newsletter, I came across a new web drama series called Blood and Bone China. I’ve only seen the first chapter, but it has caught my attention. The series has twelve episodes/chapters planned and the first one went up this month, so it’s not too late to tune in. Here’s the synopsis:
It is 1897 and a city is in turmoil. In the smoky, dirty depths of middle England, the people are terrified. The once bustling streets of Stoke are empty, the silence is only broken by the whispers of devils, demons and vampires. Poor souls are being taken, vanishing without a trace.
When the local doctor is snatched away, word travels to his brother, a young vet by the name of Newlyn Howell. Spurred on to discover the truth by the enigmatic Alexander Pyre, Newlyn’s dark adventure into the depths of Victorian Stoke begins… and what he discovers is beyond belief.
Here’s the link for Chapter One, but you can find more information about Blood and Bone China at their Facebook.
Wicked Enchantment will be hosting a Pajama Chat Readers discussion of Faith Hunter’s Jane Yellowrock series on March 20th, at 8pm EST. For all the details, click here.
The League of Reluctant Adults is auctioning off two author critique packages – Team Claw and Team Fang – with 100% of proceeds going to the Red Cross to help Japan. In addition to this group of fabulous authors, a bunch of others have thrown up a few signed copies of their books with all proceeds going to various charities.
Vicki Pettersson has a website! Well, she may have had one prior to this, but the blog look is very new if the archives are anything to go by. If you’re a fan of the Zodiac Signs series, then I would definitely hop over and see what Vicki is up to.
Have you been wanting to try Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld or Atlantis series? For a limited time, you can get the first four novels in each series for only $9.99. I know I’m sorely tempted to add both of these series to my collection.

Cupid Gone Wild Reunion Tour Winner
I had the five cupids from the new Cupid Gone Wild anthology here on Literary Escapism talking about the first EVER Cupid leak, and the first time cupids have gone public. While they was here, we gave away three copies of their Cupid Gone Wild Anthology. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: Which characters would you pick as your vic– subjects– if you were taking part in the Cupid Challenge? Or simply ask any of the Cupids a question.. Now, without further ado, the winners are:
STEPHANIE M who said: I love all of the banter between the Cupids while they try to blame each other while pushing themselves ahead in the competition.
JEN M who said: I’ve always liked the idea of Cupids being the cause of some of the matches that I see. Otherwise, I sometimes can’t imagine how in the world two such unlikely people would ever get together. It’s one thing when two people share the same interests, but when they are complete opposites, you have to wonder.
MEREDITH M who said: I’d like to know who the Cupid’s think is their perfect match?
Congratulations Stephanie, Jen and Meredith! Since the prizes were ebooks, I’ve already forwarded your emails on and your copies should be arriving in your in-boxes soon.
