Look Who’s Going To RT: Lynn Lorenz

Second MoonCan you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
I’m Lynn Lorenz and I’ve been published in erotic romance since 2008. Currently, I have 25 books with 4 publishers, including Loose Id, Amber Quill Press, Liquid Silver Books and Passion in Print. My books are available in both e-formats and print.

I write in both traditional romance and gay romance, with the majority of my books about men who love me.

My tag lines are “When you open your heart, you open your mind” and “Everyone deserves a happily ever after.” I strive to give my heroes and heroines just that, a HEA.

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
My most recent book is the first in a paranormal series called Rougaroux Social Club: Bayou Dreams. It’s about a pack of werewolves who live in South Louisiana and hide their existance behind a club that does charity works for first responders.

In the first book, we meet Scott Dupree, sheriff of St. Jerome and the pack’s alpha. His mother dabbles in a little voodoo – trying to find Scott his mate. But to Scott’s surprise, Ted Canedo, a disgraced PI from New Orleans, answers her call.  Scott’s problems are many, but the biggest is that he’s straight, but his wolf wants Ted.

Ted’s problem is he’s not interested in a straight guy, much less a werewolf, but he can’t deny he wants Scott.

Scott must choose, keep Ted as his mate and fight to the death for him, or let him go and take a change that he might die without his mate.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
No, I’ve been to 2 RT’s before this year, and I just love them. I’ve made RT my big convention for the year. I find the atmosphere so open to my genre (both erotic romance and gay romance) and I love meeting all my on-line writing friends and publishers and meeting new friends.

Best advice? Don’t get bogged down in the schedule. Leave time to just hang out, talk to everyone, you never know who’s sitting next to you at the bar or at a table during an event.

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
Yes, I am. Fellow writers Belinda McBride and Jeannie Lin are doing a panel called Kung Fu Fighting – about how to write fight scenes.

I love attending the publishers spotlights, to scope out new publishers and to support my own publishers.

And this year, I’m very interested in the screen writing panels.

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
At the bar, of course. I’m from New Orleans, and I’m most comfortable in a casual atmosphere, chatting and having a good time.

Or at my panel, of course! I will manage to get off my barstool and make the panels I’ve circled on my agenda.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
