Look Who’s Going To RT: Kieran Kramer

Kieran KramerCan you introduce yourself to my readers a little?
Hi! I’m the author of the lighthearted Regency historical romance series, The Impossible Bachelors (When Harry Met Molly), published by St. Martin’s Press.

I used to work for the CIA. I was also a journalist and English teacher. Now I’m a stay-at-home mom and live in the beautiful Lowcountry of South Carolina with my family. Some crazy facts about me: 1) I’m a game show veteran, having won big bucks on both “Family Feud” and “Wheel of Fortune,” 2) I love karaoke, and my favorite karaoke song is “Love Will Keep Us Together” by the Captain and Tenille, and 3) My two cats, Benny and Joon, and my dog Striker are high on my list of BFFs. They’re with me all day when I’m writing, and I couldn’t have a more loyal crew!

My motto has always been “Life rewards action.” My parents taught me that if you want something, you have to go after it! And even if you fail, at least you tried and you can be proud of yourself for trying. It means you’re brave!

Life is short. Time is ticking away. If YOU have a dream, stop waiting around and take that first step toward achieving it! Be a Ninja and go, go, go!!!!!

Oops. I got sidetracked there, LOL!!! The truth is, I’m truly believe in love and dreams. I believe in Disney, happy endings, and all good things. I try not to waste any time on cynicism or pulling myself or anyone else down. I believe the best in people. We are all amazing.

Again, life’s too short to think otherwise! So be happy, dear readers. :>)

Can you introduce us to the world that you have created?
Oh, how I love my guys! They are Harry, Nicholas, Stephen, and Charlie. They’ve all been dubbed Impossible Bachelors by Prinny himself–this means that they have mad skills at both charming women and avoiding legshackles!! And the women I pair them up with? Well, I do NOT write languishing heroines! My girls are out there standing up for themselves at all times. So when you get these guys and ladies together, the sparks really DO fly. I love a good romantic comedy with some poignant moments and a sweet ending, and that’s what I write.

Will this be your first RT or are you a veteran? Any advice for those who are going for the first time?
It’s my first time. I’m SO excited!!!!! Everyone, if you see me wandering around not knowing what I’m doing, please feel free to assist me. It usually means I forgot my glasses and can’t see where I’m going.

Okay, that’s a lie. If I’m wandering around, it REALLY means I’m just disorganized. I am a first-class absent-minded professor–not that I’m a professor!! Nope. Just absent-minded. I DO have glasses and lose them all the time, so it could be a combination of the two: no glasses AND being a ditz.

Once in high school, I went to the wrong classroom in the middle of the year–don’t ask me HOW. It wasn’t even the first day. And this classroom belonged to the scariest nun in school. She flamed me pretty badly. That’s when I realized I needed glasses. And maybe some good organizational skills.

I’m still working on both all these years later! So…go easy on me. Please. And in return, I’ll try not to walk into the wrong room at RT.

Are you speaking on any panels during RT? Are there any you are looking forward to?
Oh, yes!! I’m thrilled to announce I’m one of the Saucy Sirens and will be hosting, with a dozen other historical authors, a really fun party on Wednesday night!

I’m also on a panel on Tuesday: “Behind Closed Doors and Never Give Up!” It runs from from 2:30-4:00 p.m. I’ll be speaking along with the incredible authors Jade Lee aka Kathy Lyons, Mia Marlowe, Mary Wine, Judi McCoy, Karen Miller, Amanda McIntyre and Bobbi Smith!!

I’m really looking forward to attending some “Hollywood” workshops. I’ve a student of screenwriting myself, and two of my favorite mentors in that regard are the late Blake Snyder and Michael Hauge. I’m going to be lapping up all the LA glitz and glamor, too! This girl from the South is THRILLED to be heading West to California!!!

If someone were wanting to meet up with you at RT, who should they look for?
They should look for the woman who’s always smiling and/or squinting. That’s me!!!!!

I can’t tell you how excited I am to be going. I’ll be carrying around my romance trading cards, and if you see me, please ask for some! They’re gorgeous!! Lots of us authors will have them, and I plan to collect the rest for my own collection.

See you there!!

Kieran XOXO

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
