Bryan, Vespia and Hogan Winners

Contest WinnersBefore we get to the winners for the Bryan, Vespia and Hogan contests, I wanted to make sure everyone saw the current contests that are going on.

  1. Sara Creasy was here on Tuesday talking about why urban fantasy readers should be checking out science fiction.  Plus, she is giving away copies of Song of Scarabaeus and Children of Scarabaeus plus a signed bookmark to a lucky reader.  The contest ends April 12th.
  2. Linda Wisdom was here yesterday talking about how she came up with the fabulous characters in her Hex series.  Plus, she is giving away two copies of the fifth novel, Demons Are a Girl’s Best Friend.  The contest ends April 14th.

If you haven’t stopped by to check them out, why do that now?

One more thing, I have not sent out the recent contest winners prizes.  I’ve had some family issues come up and have made it slightly impossible to get to the post office. Plus, being totally honest here, there were some I thought I had already taken care of and haven’t.  Said issues have kept me running, so there have been a few things I’ve missed.  Anyway, prizes will be mailed out soon.  Promise.

As a reminder, I determined the winners by inputting all the entries into the List Randomizer, scrambling it up a couple of times, and then had the Research Randomizer pick a number.

Now on to the winners….

JL Bryan

I had the wonderful JL Bryan on Literary Escapism talking about a fabulous eco-friendly ghost removal service. While he was here, we gave away a pair of ebooks – The Haunted E-book and Dark Tomorrow. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: As a Ghost Remover, what would be your worst cast scenario?. Now, without further ado, the winner is:

JANNICK V who said: As a ghost remover, the worst case scenario would be that my equipment would start malfunctioning. Cause hey, being the 21st century, I don’t muddle with candles and symbols drawn on floors -they’re hell to wash off and that’s less profit, right?!- but instead I go for the high-tech.

But when that goes down, well, you’re screwed. Imagine you’re surrounded by evil spirits and not-so-nice-ghosts and your machinery refuses all work… You can’t really ask them to wait and go for a cuppa tea, right?

Apart from simply refusing all work, it can do anything but the right work. So instead of removing the ghost, it removes everything else…

Yeah, well, wouldn’t wanna be that guy.

Congratulations Jannick V!

Cynthia Vespia

I had the wonderful Cynthia Vespia on Literary Escapism talking about what makes a book readable. While she was here, we gave away an ecopy of either Life, Death and Back, The Crescent or The Chosen One and Seek and Destroy – winners choice. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: what they are reading and why?. Now, without further ado, the winner is:

SANDYG who said: Right now I’m reading two books: The Floating Islands by Rachel Neumeier and Halfway Hexed by Kimberly Frost. The first is a YA book set in a fantasy world and the second is the third book in the southern witch series.

I agree that my number one requirement to enjoy a book is the characters. I won’t finish a book if I don’t care what happens to the characters.

Congratulations SandyG!

Tamara Hogan

I had the wonderful Tamara Hogan on Literary Escapism talking about what if mythological creatures were real and how that was the concept for the Underbelly Chronicles.  While she was here, we gave away two copies of Tamara’s novel, Taste Me. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: If “first contact” has already occurred, who do you think could be hiding an supernatural ancestor somewhere??. Now, without further ado, the winner is:

BARBARA E who said: I’d say Oprah. She’s gotta have some kind of extraordinary power to be able to have so much influence on so many people. And Bill Gates, there must be some superhuman brain power going on there – or maybe magic.

TERI C who said: I am totally believing that Danica Patrick is some kind of superhuman. She can attack and rant like no one else on the race circuit. Maybe shifter? Cougar ;)

Congratulations Barbara E and Teri C!

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

    Doing another challenge soon?

  2. Wow, I won =)
    Thank you LE!

  3. I won the Cynthia Vespia contest but I don’t see the form to fill out.
I’d like Life Death and Back. I can email you my address.

  4. Yeah, the whole form thing is just not working for me. *frowns* It always disappears if I even think of opening the article to edit it for any reason. Plus, the form isn’t right there in my face, so it gets forgotten when I get swamped. *sigh*

Sandy and Jannick – both of your novels are ebooks, so you don’t have to worry about emailing me. I should already have your emails and will be forwarding your information on this morning.

Barbara and Teri – if you could email me your snail mails (jackie AT literaryescapism DOT com), I would appreciate it. Thanks!
