Escape

Here’s another poem I wrote a long time ago.

Escape
ESCAPE!!
The only word in their vocabulary,
the only true word for freedom,
living in cages for most
of their adult lives,
they lie in fear
of never knowing the outside.

ESCAPE!!
The only thought that is keeping her sanity.
Living in a prison
with her dictator husband,
she lives to breath the air of freedom,
hoping she won’t be living in fear much longer.

ESCAPE!!
Ideas for many tortured souls,
but dreams come true for a few.
Living with the harsh
realities of the world,
many have known that to escape
is to live.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
