Antho-Real Wereives of Vampire CountyI couldn’t remember if we had seen the cover for Devyn Quinn’s Darkness Descending, but even if we had, this cover is gorgeous.  Plus, check out this new anthology featuring Jess Haines, Angie Fox, Alexandra Ivy and Tami Dane.  The Real Werewives of Vampire County looks like it might be a really fun read.  These are only two of many fabulous covers that have been popping up. For all the new covers, I’ve added them to the FB album for your viewing pleasure.

GoodReads has posted the excerpt for Kresley Cole’s 11th Immortals After Dark novel, Lothaire, which is due out January 10, 2012.

From the humblest of beginnings a millennia ago, Lothaire the Enemy of Old rose to power, becoming the most feared and evil vampire in the immortal world. Driven by his past, he will not rest until he captures the vampire Horde’s crown for himself. The discovery of his Bride, the female meant only for him, threatens to derail his plot.

Elizabeth Peirce is a mere mortal, a glaring vulnerability for a male with so many blood foes bent on annihilating anything he desires. Yet soon he discovers his Bride’s secret. A magnificent power dwells inside the fragile human, one that will aid his quest. But to possess that power, he will have to destroy her. Will Lothaire succumb to the torments of his past, or seize a future with her?

Book Chick City has found a few Carina Press novels that are selling for only $.99.  This is a limited time offer, so if you’re interested, I would go check it out now.

This doesn’t really come as a surprise, but according to Blastr, NBC has just picked up a new show for their fall scheduling called Grimm and it’s premise surrounds fairy tales.  With the success of the various paranormal/supernatural themed shows lately, it was only a matter of time before were tapped.  Here’s the basics for Grimm.

Grimm stars David Giuntoli as another police detective who learns that fairy-tale creatures are real, and it’s his new job to protect humans from the mythological creatures. The series comes from Universal Media Studios and was created by Angel‘s David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf. Grimm also stars Bitsie Tulloch, Kate Burton, Reggie Lee, Russell Hornsby, Sasha Roiz and Silas Weir Mitchell.

Blastr has a new trailer for the upcoming season of True Blood and it’s making me really want to see the third season so I can jump into the fourth when it airs on June 26th at 9pm on HBO.

Blastr also has an extended scene from the upcoming X-Men: First Class movie as well as a clip from Stranger Tides.  Man is there a lot of great movies coming out soon.

Jim C. Hines is giving away an ARC of his upcoming novel, The Snow Queen’s Shadow.  Ends next week.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
