Kept By Z. Winters

In this first novella, Kept,  Zoe Winters writes about a woman, Greta, whose destiny is to die unless she gets an evil sorcerer, Dayne, to help and protect her. Along the way they fell in love and then the betrayal of parents, and the threat of doom, start to complicate their relationship. Though with the help of an unexpected “friend” the day is saved, but all is far from well.

Kept is the first novel in a new trilogy by Ms. Winters and I believe, in the other two novellas, Ms. Winters might go further in to the ultimate plot that may encompass all the characters that we have been introduced to so far.

Overall, It was a good read.  I was really involved with the two main characters – Greta and Dayne.  Dayne acts like a bitter old man, but he has a heart and it softens for Greta.  Greta, on the other hand, is not as naïve as she looks. She has a great friend, Charlee, whom we see loves her no matter what Greta is.  Even though Kept is short, the characters have no lack of development. They felt real to me.  The end of the book took me by surprise when I got there. My mind screamed “That is it? What the heck? Where’s the rest, I need more, it cant end like that“.  So I am enthusiastically waiting for the rest of the series to come out.

  1. Hey, thanks for the shout out! I’m glad you liked KEPT. The trilogy should be coming out in print and E late this year, and the second novella will feature Charlee and Anthony.
