Dear Bernita Harris…

2011 Blog CrawlFor the second year in a row, Kassa from 3am is hosting the Author Fan Letter Blog Crawl and this year a couple of us at Literary Escapism are taking part! Yesterday’s letter was to JK Rowling from the fabulous I Love Books and tomorrow’s will be at Reading Writing and Life…Oh My!. However, before you leave, Casey posted her own letter earlier today.

Dear Ms. Harris,

I want to thank you for writing an amazing book like Dark & Disorderly. If Dark & Disorderly hadn’t caught my attention on Net Galley, I might have never given the Urban Fantasy genre a chance. Until I read Dark & Disorderly, I had always brushed aside the UF genre as not for me. Then I got my hands on your book and I was hooked from page one. It took me only a few days to read Dark & Disorderly, which is a huge feat for me, now that I have a 4 year old daughter. I was completely spellbound by your book from start to finish and can’t wait to read more!

Furthermore, before I wrote my review of Dark & Disorderly on Literary Escapism, I contacted you to see if there was publish date for the second installment in your Adventures of Lillie St. Claire series. I was literally floored that you were kind enough to write back and actually apologized for the few days it took you to respond! I wasn’t expecting an answer, let alone an apology. It was extremely kind and gracious of you.

I think you are an amazing writer and can’t wait see/read what you write next! I am very impatiently waiting for your next book in the Lillie St. Claire series!

Best Regards,
Lisa

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Gotta love those books that introduce us to new and wonderful genres that we may have otherwise not tried. Very nice letter Lisa!

  2. I love it when I take a chance and am pleasantly surprised by a new author or genre; so glad this worked for you. And the fact that the author responded so nicely is wonderful!
