Golden Blood of Deadhouse

SErikson-Deadhouse GatesLauren Dane has posted an excerpt from her newly released novel, Goddess With a Blade.

Yasmine Galenorn has posted an excerpt from her upcoming Indigo Court novel, Night Veil, which comes out July 29th.

Check out the cover for Steven Erikson’s Deadhouse Gates.  The artist, JK Drummon, has done a fabulous job for the signed limited edition being published by Subterranean Press.  The sad news is, the novel hasn’t been published yet and it’s already 75% sold out.  If you want your hands on a copy, go preorder now!

There have been a ton of fabulous covers popping up lately. For all the new covers, I’ve added them to the FB album for your viewing pleasure.

Author Appearances:

RMead-Golden LilyRichelle Mead has post the description for the final Dark Swan novel, Shadow Heir, which is scheduled to be released January 3, 2012.

Shaman-for-hire Eugenie Markham strives to keep the mortal realm safe from trespassing entities. But as the Thorn Land’s prophecy-haunted queen, there’s no refuge for her and her soon-to-be-born-children when a mysterious blight begins to devastate the Otherworld…

The spell-driven source of the blight isn’t the only challenge to Eugenie’s instincts. Fairy king Dorian is sacrificing everything to help, but Eugenie can’t trust the synergy drawing them back together. The uneasy truce between her and her shape shifter ex-lover Kiyo is endangered by secrets he can’t–or won’t–reveal. And as a formidable force rises to also threaten the human world, Eugenie must use her own cursed fate as a weapon–and risk the ultimate sacrifice…

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at reviewing?  If so, Tygna’s Reviews is looking to add a reviewer to their staff.

Speaking of Tynga’s Reviews, she has found some fabulous deals from Simon & Schuster, which includes deals from Gena Showalter, Kresley Cole, Nancy Gideon, Melissa Mayhue, Adrian Phoenix, JF Lewis and Jeri Smith-Ready just to name a few.

One of my favorite perks for having an ereader is all the free books.  Check out these that have recently become available.  Warning, some books may only be free for a limited time, but at the time of this post, they were free.

For those of you in the UK, Angry Robot Books is doing a fabulous summer promotion and offering a bunch of their books for $.99.   Book Chick City has a list, but some of those titles include Sixty-One Nails by Mike Shevdon and King Maker by Maurice Broaddus.

Blastr has gotten their hands on a few stills from the upcoming Captain America movie.  For some reason, I never really associated Captain America as a war movie and I’m not one who normally likes those, but it does look interesting.

A bunch of authors and bloggers have gotten together for a charity auction to benefit LA Banks with her medical bills.  There’s a ton of great stuff up for grabs and it goes to a worthy cause.  I would head on over and check the items.  Sadly, I’ve already been out bidded for the Authors After Dark 2012 Hotel Room in NOLA.  Some other items up for grabs: set of Chloe Neill’s Chicagoland Vampire series and Dark Elite series, set of The Signs of the Zodiac series, set of Angela Knight’s Mageverse Books and signed set of Lori Handeland’s Phoenix Chronicles.

Holy crap…Amazon just bought out the Book Depository.  Hopefully that doesn’t mean that the free shipping online retailer will change it’s shipping policy, but one never knows.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
