The Purple Cover Contest

I’m in the mood to do another giveaway and since I can, I’m going to.  There’s really no rhyme or reason to this one, so I’m just going to show you what I’m giving away.

Radiant Shadows by Melissa Marr

MMArr-Radiant ShadowsHalf-human and half-faery, Ani is driven by her hungers.

Those same appetites also attract powerful enemies and uncertain allies, including Devlin. He was created as an assassin and is brother to the faeries’ coolly logical High Queen and to her chaotic twin, the embodiment of War. Devlin wants to keep Ani safe from his sisters, knowing that if he fails, he will be the instrument of Ani’s death.

Ani isn’t one to be guarded while others fight battles for her, though. She has the courage to protect herself and the ability to alter Devlin’s plans—and his life. The two are drawn together, each with reason to fear the other and to fear for one another. But as they grow closer, a larger threat imperils the whole of Faerie. Will saving the faery realm mean losing each other?

Hard Bitten by Chloe Neill

CNeill-Hard BittenTimes are hard for newly minted vampire Merit. Ever since shapeshifters announced their presence to the world, humans have been rallying against supernaturals–and they’re camping outside of Cadogan House with protest signs that could turn to pitchforks at any moment. Inside its doors, things between Merit and her Master, green-eyed heartbreaker Ethan Sullivan are … tense. But then the mayor of Chicago calls Merit and Ethan to a clandestine meeting and tells them about a violent vamp attack that has left three women missing. His message is simple: get your House in order. Or else.

Merit needs to get to the bottom of this crime, but it doesn’t help that she can’t tell who’s on her side. So she secretly calls in a favor from someone who’s tall, dark, and part of underground vamp group that may have some deep intel on the attack. Merit soon finds herself in the heady, dark heart of Chicago’s supernatural society–a world full of vampires who seem too ready to fulfill the protesting human’s worst fears, and a place where she’ll learn that you can’t be a vampire without getting a little blood on your hands…

Bite Club by Rachel Caine

RCaine-Bite ClubAfter discovering that vampires populate her town, college student Claire Danvers knows that the undead just want to live their lives. But someone else wants them to get ready to rumble.

There’s a new extreme sport getting picked up on the Internet: bare- knuckle fights pitting captured vampires against each other-or humans. Tracking the remote signal leads Claire- accompanied by her friends and frenemies-to discover that what started as an online brawl will soon threaten everyone in Morganville…

Three books, three winners and it’s fairly easy to enter.  All you have to do is answer this question: What are you currently (have just finished) reading and why should we (or not) read it?  Or, if you’re not reading anything at the  moment, what’s your favorite 2011 release so far? Remember, you must answer the question in order to be entered.

As always, there’s more ways of getting your name in the hat (remember, these aren’t mandatory to enter, just extra entries):

  • +1 for each place you post about today’s contest on your blog, social network, or anywhere you can. Digg it, stumble it, twit it, share it with the world. Wherever you share it, make sure you add a link to it along with your answer.
  • +1 to any review of Vicki’s novels you comment on, however, comments must be meaningful. Just give me the title of the review and I’ll be able to figure it out from there.
  • +1 If you are a follower of Literary Escapism on Facebook and/or Twitter
  • +10 Purchase any novel through LE’s Amazon store sometime during this contest and send a copy of the receipt VIA email for your purchase to: jackie AT literaryescapism DOT com. Each purchase is worth ten entries.

The winner must post a review of the novel someplace. Whether it is on their own blog, Amazon, GoodReads, LibraryThing or wherever, it doesn’t matter. Just help get the word out.

The contest will stay open until July 31st at which time I’ll determine the winner with help from the Research Randomizer and the List Randomizer.  I have not been contacting winners, so you will need to check back to see if you’ve won.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. Oooh, fantastic giveaway! I’m currently reading A Dance With Dragons by George R.R. Martin. I’ve waited a long time for this book and it’s worth the wait. Martin has a magnificent grasp on characterization. He has such a large cast and it’s a difficult task, but he brings his world to life beautifully through his characters. It’s a thick book. I’m pumping up my muscles carrying it around, but the quality of the story outweighs the quantity of pages.

  2. I’ve just finished reading the Drake Sisters series by Christine Feehan. I thoroughly enjoyed the series. The books are extremely well written. Feehan adds enough suspense to the story to keep it driving a long very nicely. The romantic scenes are written well and not too long or too short. All in all it was one of the better series I’ve read in a long time.

  3. I love Melissa Marr, and haven’t read this book yet! The other books like really interesting too. I would love to win these books for a chance to read them. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!

  4. What are you currently (have just finished) reading and why should we (or not) read it?
I just finished Dear John, many people have already read it. I love it because Nicholas Sparks is amazing at story telling and making you believe in love. I was going through an emotional roller coaster at the time with my boyfriend and it was the greatest therapy :D

  5. I am currently reading Jeri Smith-Ready’s WVMP Radio series and I am loving it! I definitely recommend it to PR/UF fans. ;)

  6. I just finished reading Texas Gothic by Rosemary Clement-Moore and it was pretty awesome. It’s a YA but it’s oriented to an older crowd (all the characters are in college). There are ghosts, a cowboy, weird family members and a bit of magic. I really enjoyed it.
