Feast of Fools by R. Caine

No, I’m not backed up on reviews. I really did finish two books today. The fourth Morganville Vampires novel, Feast of Fools was completely captivating.

In the town of Morganville, vampires and humans live in relative peace. Student Claire Danvers has never been convinced, though—especially with the arrival of Mr. Bishop, an ancient, old-school vampire who cares nothing about harmony. What he wants from the town’s living and its dead is unthinkably sinister. It’s only at a formal ball, attended by vampires and their human dates, that Claire realizes the elaborately evil trap he’s set for Morganville.

I think I’m back into my reading groove because I could not put this book down.  I started this book after writing the review for Midnight Alley and I could not put it down.  This is definitely one of those series that is getting better and better.  And for once, the age card was never played so I was able to get involved in the story without getting annoyed.  It was awesome!  I am so suppose to be reading different books right now, but I am liking the twists that are going on in Morganville right now and I really want to know how it is going to work out.  The status quo is changing and it’s going to make the dynamics really interesting between the human population and the vampires.  If I thought the changes in the character dynamics of Midnight Alley were plot changing, that’s nothing compared to what is going on now.

Overall, if you’ve read the series through Midnight Alley and haven’t gotten sucked in, then you definitely will with Feast of Fools.  I’m already thinking that maybe I can stay up to start reading the next one, Lord of Misrule, but something tells me that will be a bad idea since I have to get up early in the morning.

I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I’m glad to hear that you are enjoying this series. I just picked the 1st one up at the library and I’m looking forward to reading it. I have heard that these end with cliffhangers though which might bug me.
