The Black & White Cover Contest Winners

A new contest will be starting tonight.  I’m not sure which oen will go up yet, but it’ll either be a “signed” or “fantasy” edition.  I could also do a Georgina Kincaid edition.  Decisions decisions.

Contest WinnersAnyway, it’s time to announce the winners from the Black and White Cover Contest.  As a reminder, I’m giving away a copy of Cat Patrick’s Forgotten, Kat Richardson’s Downpour and two copies of Daniel Polansky’s Low Town.  In order to enter, everyone had to answer the question What are you currently (have just finished) reading and why should we (or not) read it? Or, if you’re not reading anything at the moment, which August release are you anxiously waiting for?? Without further ado, the winners are:

ForgottenDOBERMOM who said: I just finished Sherrilyn Kenyon’s latest entry to her Dark Hunter lexicon, Retribution. She’s started on a new pantheon/mythology – American Indian. A lot of people have really loved it, but I found it…just OK. Same basic story, different dark-hunter, differences in the details. (Don’t get me wrong, I still love the DH series.) The best part of the book was Bonus Scene at the end of the book – with the birth of Tory & Acheron’s baby :-)

I’m anxiously waiting 3 new releases due the end of August:
1) Richelle Mead’s Bloodlines
2) Rachel Vincent’s Blood Bound
3) Jeaniene Frost’s One Grave at a Time

DownpourMEL S who said: I just finished Kitty’s Big Trouble which was a lot of fun – always enjoy time with Kitty, Ben and Cormac! Just starting Heartless by Gail Carriger now – only read the first couple of pages but it’s already had me smiling. :)

Low TownQWILL who said: I just finished reading Awakenings (Tor Books, Aug. 30, 2011) by Edward Lazellari. It’s the first in the Warriors of Aandor and a debut. I loved it. It’s a terrific Urban Fantasy. I can’t wait for the next book! The cover would fit your contest. It’s mostly black and white and done by Chris McGrath (my favorite cover artist).

I’m just starting The Armadgeddon Chord by Jeremy Wagner. No thoughts on that yet.

Low TownCATHIE who said: I just finished Sweetheart by Chelsea Cain and it was really good….if you like serial killer books and messed up cops. It’s the 2nd book in a series and I look forward to reading the rest of them. It’s paced well, good character development…I’m glad I tried it!

Congratulations Dobermom, Mel S, Qwill and Cathie! Please email me your info (jackie at literaryescapism dot com) and I’ll get your book mailed out to you.  You have one week to email me or new names will be drawn.

Winners were determined using the snazzy new plug-in I have.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
