Contest: the Signed Edition

As I go to the various author sightings that have been occurring lately, I’ve been snagging an additional copy to give away her and I’ve totally forogtten about a few that I have.  So now it’s time to give them away.  All of these are signed by the author and could be yours…

RMead-Last SacrificeIt all comes down to now.

Murder. Love. Jealousy. And the ultimate sacrifice.

The Queen is dead and the Moroi world will never be the same. Now, with Rose awaiting wrongful execution and Lissa in a deadly struggle for the royal throne, the girls find themselves forced to rely upon enemies and to question those they thought they could trust…

Each other.

Angels’ Blood by Nalini Singh

NSingh-Angels BloodVampire hunter Elena Deveraux knows she is the best- but she does not know if even she is good enough for this job. Hired by the dangerously beautiful archangel Raphael, a being so lethal that no mortal wants his attention, Elena knows failure is not an option—even if the task is impossible.

Because this time, it’s not a wayward vamp she has to track. It’s an archangel gone bad.

The job will put Elena in the midst of a killing spree like no other—and pull her to the razor’s edge of passion. Even if the hunt does not destroy her, succumbing to Raphael’s seductive touch just might. For when archangels play, mortals break

Slave to Sensation by Nalini Singh

NSingh-Slave to SensationIn a world that denies emotions, where the ruling Psy punish any sign of desire, Sascha Duncan must conceal the feelings that brand her as flawed. To reveal them would be to sentence herself to the horror of “rehabilitation” – the complete psychic erasure of everything she ever was…

Both human and animal, Lucas Hunter is a changeling hungry for the very sensations the Psy disdain. After centuries of uneasy coexistence, these two races are now on the verge of war over the brutal murders of several changeling women. Lucas is determined to find the Psy killer who butchered his packmate, and Sascha is his ticket into their closely guarded society. But he soon discovers that this ice-cold Psy is very capable of passion – and that the animal in him is fascinated by her. Caught between their conflicting worlds, Lucas and Sascha must remain bound to their identities – or sacrifice everything for a taste of darkest temptation…

There is now an official giveaway policy, so if there’s any question, please consult that.  However, all of LE’s contests have gotten simpler.  All you have to do is answer this question: What are you currently (have just finished) reading and why should we (or not) read it?  Or, if you’re not reading anything at the moment, which September release are you anxiously waiting for?  Remember, you must answer the question in order to be entered.

And that’s it!  I’m getting rid of the additional entries option.  I’ve found a new WP Plug-in that’ll make picking winners really easy and people were saying they liked the one option better.  However, this does mean that I will be moderating the comments a little closer than I have in the past.  Any comment that does not answer the question will be deleted and will not count towards the contest (and I will not be notifying anyone if I do disqualify their comment.

Even though I’m not giving the additional entries any more, you can still help support the authors in the contest by sharing it on your blog, Twitter, Facebook or anywhere you can. After all, the more people who are aware of these fabulous authors ensures we get more fabulous stories.

The one thing I am not changing is that the winner must post a review of the novel someplace. Whether it is on their own blog, Amazon, GoodReads, LibraryThing or wherever, it doesn’t matter. Just help get the word out.

The contest will stay open until midnight on September 15th at which time I’ll determine the winners with help from the snazzy new plug-in I have.  I have not been contacting winners, so you will need to check back to see if you’ve won.

I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I just finished The Iron Knight by Julie Kagawa, it was great. Though not quiet as good as the previous Iron Fey books, but I think that was simply because the whole book was from Ash’s POV as opposed to Meghan’s.

    Great giveaway!

  2. Currently I am reading Undead and Unemployeed. I chose to read it because I enjoyed the first in the series so much. I would recommend these books if you are looking for a light read and some humor. Unfortunately I am way behind on my reading because of having to read so much for school. Oh the sacrifices we make.

  3. I am currently reading Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children .And so far,It is really good !!!Although it is slightly less creepy than I had expected, but still,it has some creep factor .

Thank you for this amazing giveaway !!!

  4. I actually just finished reading Bloodlines. If you’ve read Vampire Academy then you definitely need to read Bloodlines. It focuses on Alchemist Sydney Sage, whom we met in Vampire Academy. I really enjoy Richelle Mead’s writing style.

  5. I’m currently reading the Hunger Games trilogy. I literally just finished reading it and started back with book one lol. I honestly haven’t decided if I like it or not but it is an amazing series. The best i can come up with… its human. It literally shows the best, worst, and the most broken people. The bad guys break the good guys mentally, physically, emotionally. The good guys may win in the end but at the expense of everything and the good ones aren’t always what they seem.

  6. I have just finished reading Divergent by Veronica Roth. It is SOO good. It kind of reminded me of Hunger Games. The heroin is very… human, I guess that’s the word I’m looking for. And the hero is oh-so mysterious. It was fun getting to see what’s underneath the surface (:

  7. ohh what wonderful books!! yay signed!!
i just finished reading the Home Improvement Undead Edition anthology.. some good stories, a bunch of authors.. before that was green eyed envy by kasey mackenzie, which i loved.. right now i just picked up maryjanice davidsons first book in the jennifer scales series…

  8. I’m currently reading Blood Magic by Jennifer Lyon.. If you love humor, hunky men, new twist to paranormal and witches you’d love this book

  9. I just finished Patricia Briggs Moon Called. Now I know why people love this series. Easy to read, action, doesn’t lag, Mercy is tough, grounded and independent but won’t hesitate to ask for help, characters aren’t flat.

  10. I just finished reading Nocturne by Syrie James and it was pretty good! It was sort of a paranormal fairy tale, so I guess that’s PNR! It was pretty romantic which isn’t usually my cup of tea, but I still fiercely enjoyed it! Mostly because it made me think of Beauty and the Beast–the fairy tale!

So if you like paranormals and fairy tales then this just might be the read for you!

  11. I am reading my way through One Grave at a Time, and you should totally read it. I love the Cat and Bones series, this couple is to die for…. harhar. Next up I am reading Blood Cursed, so I hope to get some more new reads soon.
Those are some great titles, thank you!

  12. I just finished Karen Chance’s “Hunt the Moon”. And oh boy was that an edge of your seat, non-stop action, sensational book! It’s the kind of book where you skip dinner to see if the heroines makes it out alive. You stay awake to finish that one next chapter…that leads into a whole bunch because you cannot stop as every chapter ends at a bad moment where you HAVE to read the next one. (Or so you tell yourself lol) It was just a great book. I so love this series. The only bad part of the books is when they end. It’s hard to wait for the next book to come out.

  13. I’m currently reading Mercy Blade by Faith Hunter, the third book in the Jane Yellowrock series. I would definitely recommend this book (and the whole series) if you like urban fantasy with a kick ass heroine skinwalker and dangerous vampires.

  14. I’m reading Heat Stroke, the second book in the Weather Warden series by Rachel Caine. So far it’s sexy, fun, and entertaining, and I definitely recommend it! Thanks for the giveaway!

  15. I just finished War Horse by Michael Morpugo. It’s about a horse who’s sold to the British army during World War One, and his experiences during the war told from the horse’s viewpoint. It’s a quick read and I didn’t want to put it down.

  16. I am just finishing Crossroads by Jeanne C Stein. This is a fantastic series.Very strong heroine,Anna is one tough woman. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

  17. I just finished The Battle Sylph by LJ McDonald and I loved it. It’s fantasy romance, which I don’t usually read much of, but I read a novella set in this world in an anthology and loved it so much that I had to give the series a try. Moving on to The Shattered Sylph next, and luckily, the third book, Queen of the Sylphs, is coming out in September.

  18. I’ve just finished the Burning Stone by Kate Elliott, and started the next book in this fantasy series, Child of Flame. What I like the best about this series, that it seems more like historical novels, not fantasy, and they also depict a world not unlike ours, only where women are considered above the men in all matters. it interesting to see a different kind of culture.

  19. Currently going through a phase of rereads due to lack of new books available.

The two I have on the go are The Fire Rose by Mercedes Lackey and anyone who loves ‘beauty and the beast’ type stories will love this one. The other book is Little Fuzzy by H Beam Piper and this is more for the science fiction fan who enjoys Aliens and questions about Sentience :D

  20. I’m reading the Omen Machine by Terry Goodkind. I love the whole Sword of Truth Series, and this is the latest entry. Good characters who I’ve grown attached to over the last 12 years.

    • I started reading the Sword of Truth series, but it lost be about book four or five. I don’t know if I just ended up burning out or what, but I haven’t been back to it since. I really need to, it’s a great series. *grin*

  21. I am re-reading Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Zafon and for anyone who loves a good mystery, this is the one for you. There are many twists and turns and you can really relate/feel for the characters. It is easily one of my favorite books which is why I am re-reading it.

  22. I just finished reading Defiance (A Strange Angels Novel) by Lili St. Crow. It’s a YA novel but with a mature edge. I absolutely love this series! The heroine is very kick-butt with a werewolf sidekick that’s hot, and a vampire trainer that’s equally hot. You have secrets, betrayals, love triangles, great fight scences, and a great plot what more could you want.

  23. I just finished reading Shayla Black’s Wicked Lover series… I loved them sooo much that I am now reading her Paranormal series called the Doomsday Brethren – awesome giveaway :)
