New Moon by S. Meyer

I told you I went out and bought New Moon by Stephenie Meyer last night; well I had it finished by this afternoon. And that was after spending the morning out and about. I was so enthralled in this novel last night that I completely missed the first part to the season finale of Top Chef Chicago. I mean, that’s the only reason I’m up late on Wednesday nights and I didn’t even know what time it was until I saw it was midnight last night.

Let me get back on subject, well, at least let me get to a point where I’m not rambling. New Moon was very VERY intense. For the second novel in a series, we’re thrown a very unique twist early on and we deal with the repercussions. I’m trying to think of how to say this without giving anything away….Edward gives Bella some bad news and she doesn’t exactly take it well. I really can’t say anything more without giving anything a way. But I will say one thing…Edward can be such an ass. For those who have already read it, then you know exactly what I’m talking about; but for those of you who haven’t read it yet, the news sets in motion the circumstances that allow Bella to get more involved with Jake. The emotions coming out of this book are so captivating that I felt like I was feeling everything with her. I will be honest, I don’t think my eyes were dried for over half the book. I know when a novel is good when I start bawling like a baby. I can be extremely soft hearted, but for a book to make me cry, it has to be really good.

That’s all I’m going to say about this novel. I could go on about the character development and what plot there is, but this book caught me when I shed my first tear within the first few chapters. When a book can invoke that much emotion, then nothing else needs to be said.

After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
