Kellison, Berkley, Card & Signed Edition Contest Winners

Contest WinnersBefore I get to the winners of the multitude of contests that just ended, I just wanted to remind everyone that we’re giving away a copy of Deadworld by JN Duncan. Contest ends September 20th.

Now on to the winners….

Erin Kellison

I had the fabulous Erin Kellison on Literary Escapism discussing all the shadowy things that one sees. While she was here, we gave away a copy of her new novel, Shadowman. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: What keeps you up at night? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

STEPHANIE who said: What keeps me up at night are the same things that keep Erin up, only instead of dashing men, my shadows are demons. My dad once told me that the Devil lived in darkness. To this day, when the lights are out the shadows begin to move and I think it’s the devil coming after my soul.

Congratulations Stephanie!

Shea Berkley

I had the amazing Shea Berkley on Literary Escapism discussing falling into stories. While she was here, we gave away an ebook of The Marked Son. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: Do you love the hero who doesn’t know he is heroic or is there a different kind you prefer? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

LINDA K who said: While I like many different types of heroes, I tend to “fall” for the anti-hero, hero. Damon Salvatore from the Vampire Diaries being a really good example of my pretty much perfect hero :)

Congratulations Linda!

Melanie Card

I had the wonderful Melanie Card on Literary Escapism talking about writing in between the spaces. While she was here, we gave away an ebook of Ward Against Death. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: To you prefer it when books stick to one specific genre or do you enjoy those that write in between the spaces? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

SARAH who said: Hmmm… that’s a tough one.

On one hand, I like my genres firmly set. I like to know where the boundaries are and dislike, for example, a world of swords & spells where the hero whips out a laser gun to solve a problem. I’ve encountered that and it just reeks of laziness.

On the other hand, I am all for integration. A little romance with sci-fi never hurt anyone. Bottom line: I want believable characters. If one falls in love with the other while on a space barge and it is done in a believable manner, that’s great.

I suppose it depends on the quality of the writing when integrating the two, or more, styles.

Congratulations Sarah!

The Signed Edition Contest

For this Signed Edition Contest, I’m giving away signed copies of Richelle Mead’s Last Sacrifice as well as Nalini Singh’s Angels’ Blood and Slave to Sensation. In order to enter, everyone had to answer the question: What are you currently (have just finished) reading and why should we (or not) read it?  Or, if you’re not reading anything at the moment, which September release are you anxiously waiting for? Without further ado, the winners are:

Last Sacrifice: AMY who said: I just finished reading Defiance (A Strange Angels Novel) by Lili St. Crow. It’s a YA novel but with a mature edge. I absolutely love this series! The heroine is very kick-butt with a werewolf sidekick that’s hot, and a vampire trainer that’s equally hot. You have secrets, betrayals, love triangles, great fight scenes, and a great plot what more could you want.

Angels’ Blood: ELAING8 who said: I am just finishing Crossroads by Jeanne C Stein. This is a fantastic series.Very strong heroine,Anna is one tough woman. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Slave to Sensation: VALERIE R who said: I have recently finished several books by Maria V. Snyder in both her Study series, and her Glass series. They are great books to read and i would recommend them to others as they are quite different than other books I have read, they have magic and stealth, mysteries and spies. They are very interesting books.

I am currently reading Grave Secrets by Kathy Reichs, and the only endorsement that needs to be said here is if you are a fan of the television show Bones then you will definitely love these books as they are what the show is based on.

Congratulations Amy, Elaing8 and Valerie!

The Sort of Blue Cover Contest

As a reminder, I gave away a copy of CS Friednman’s Legacy of Kings, Robin Hobb’s Dragon Haven and Stephen R. Donaldson’s Against All Things Ending.  Sadly, Jennifer never claimed her copy of Robin Hobb’s Dragon Haven, so I’m drawing a new name.  In order to enter, everyone had to answer the question What are you currently (have just finished) reading and why should we (or not) read it? Or, if you’re not reading anything at the moment, which August release are you anxiously waiting for?? Without further ado, the winners are:

ALAINA who said: i just finished Thea Harrisons newest.. and i highly recommend it to everyone!! now i’m trying Nancy A. Collins.. right hand magic.. its not bad so far.. all kinds of different species and fun stuff in it!

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
