I disappear for a day and looks what comes out…

Check out the sporty new cover for Ilona Andrew’s On the Edge. This is the beginning of a new series by Andrews and if it’s anything like her Kate Daniels series, than it’s going to be awesome. Here’s some background on the novel.  On the Edge will be released September 29, 2009.

Suburban Vampire has information on a new online series involving vampires.  The indie film project is touted as a “Kevin Smith meets Interview with the Vampire,” so if it sounds interesting, head over for the details.

Interviews:

Kelley Armstrong has a new Woman of the Otherworld novel, Angelic, coming out and Subterranean Press is offering up a limited edition hardcover.  The novel isn’t do out until December, but it features our favorite ghost – Eve Levine.

I just found this great article over at Vampire Literary and it talks about when a vampire is not a vampire.

Ann Aguirre is started to put together the new Ruta Awards for 2010 and she’s looking for your suggestions.  The RUTA celebrates all the books that don’t follow the rules. In Romance Up the Ass, we will cheer the foul-mouthed, sexually confident heroine.  This sounds like it could have some fun categories!  :)

Nicola over at Alpha Heroes has information on a virtual signing tour that JR Ward is doing.  I guess Ward doesn’t get to a lot of places with book tours, but she’s giving everyone a chance now with this virtual tour.  You’ll have to head over to Alpha Heroes for more details, but something tells me that you’re already aware of it if you’re a Ward fan.

CONTEST ALERT – Jaci Burton is giving away an ARC of Jeri Smith-Ready’s Bad to the Bone.  Burton isn’t picking a name until this weekend, so there’s still time to get in on the drawing, but not much.

The next novel in Stacia Kane’s Megan Chase series has a cover.  Demon Inside will be released July 28, 2009.

SF Signal is asking: Once upon a time, sf/f was full of taboos: no swearing, no sex, etc. We’re thankfully past those days, but are there any taboos still remaining or new ones that have sprung up?.

CONTEST ALERT – Pat’s Fantasy Hotlist is giving away a limited edition of Jim Butcher’s Fool Moon.  I’m not seeing an end date on the contest, so if you want to get in the drawing, I would head over soon.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
