Contest WinnersBefore I get to the winners of the contests that just ended, I wanted to remind everyone about the current contests going on:

  1. We’re giving away two copies of Rebecca Zanetti’s two copies of either Fated or Claimed – winners choice. Contest runs October 27th – November 3rd.
  2. We’re giving away copies of Chloe Neill’s Hard Bitten and Hexbound and a Chicagoland Vampire novel – winner’s choice. Contest runs November 1st – 15th.

Also, winners for the GA Aiken, Inara Scott, Sara Humphreys and Theresa Meyer contests were announced here. I’m still waiting on two more winners, so if you’re one of them, please contact me before 11/5 otherwise I will be drawing new names.

Now on to the winners….

Hannah Jayne

I had the fabulous Hannah Jayne on Literary Escapism discussing fictional doppelgangers. While she was here, we gave away a copy of Under Wraps or Under Attack – winners choice. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: What characters (books, movies, TV) do you have certain uncanny similarities to? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

KRISTIN who said: I don’t look like her, but the character I’m most similar to is from Wonderfalls, a short-lived TV show about a young woman named Jaye Tyler who works at Niagra Falls and suddenly has inanimate objects talking to her.

I don’t have things talking to me (at least not yet), but she’s solitary (read: antisocial) and very sarcastic. And I often borrow her quote and say that I am overeducated and unemployable.

Congratulations Kristin!

Weird Fiction Contest

Thanks to the wonderful people at Penguin, I have copies of a copy of HP Lovecraft and ST Joshi’s The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories and Arthur Machen and ST Joshi’s The White People and Other Weird Stories to give away as part of the Weird Fiction Contest. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: What kind of dream related powers do you like? Can you think of more stories involving dream powers? Now, without further ado, the winner is:

The Call of Cthulhu and Other Weird Stories BECKY who said: I’ve always loved Ray Bradbury’s ILLUSTRATED MAN collection. I read a lot of them as a kid and they always stuck with me.

The White People and Other Weird StoriesDENISE who said: I love HPL. My absolute favorite weird story is Herbert West – Reanimator. Lovecraft hated it and it’s said to be his worst work. But the pulpiness of it is great and I like the build up. A good part of the fun of Lovecraft is his (usually terrible) attitude about things that shows through. He loved science and was fascinated with it but the man’s people skills were severely lacking.

Congratulations Becky and Denise!

Stories for Nighttime Contest

Thanks to the wonderful people at Penguin, I had a copy of Ben Loory’s Stories for Nighttime and Some for the Day to give away as part of the Stories for Nighttime Contest. In order to enter, all anyone had to do was answer: What your favorite elements of paranormal romance and steampunk Now, without further ado, the winner is:

BIBLIOTROPIC (from Bibliotropic) who said: Favourite nighttime story? Hard to say. I don’t have things that I prefer reading at night over reading them in the day, and lately, most of the reading I get done is at night anyway. So I guess the best answer for this would be: anything!

Congratulations Bibliotropic!

Winners!

You have until November 7th to send me an email at jackie AT literaryescapism DOT com, with the contest you won in the subject line, otherwise I’ll draw a new name when I post the current contest winners.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
