No Humans Involved by K. Armstrong

The seventh novel in Kelley Armstrong’s Otherworld series – No Humans Involved – is narrated by the necromancer, Jamie Vegas. I really like this series for the fact that Armstrong doesn’t use the same narrator for each of her novels. While the cast of characters remains the same, the plot lines constantly change because each character is doing their own thing. Not only does each character have their own life, but they have their own skills. Jamie can actually say she sees dead people, which doesn’t seem like that big of a “special” skill, it can be quite annoying. Ghosts are always trying to get her send messages to loved ones, asking them to solve her murders, or are simple giving her a headache because they think they are funny. She encounters these ghosts every day of her life, and through these encounters, she stumbles across a few ghosts that trigger her curiosity. You know what they say about curiosity, and while Jamie is dealing with hers, the plot doesn’t lose anything during the search for answers.

This novel really flowed for me. It brought Jamie into the spotlight and also gave her a chance to explore the possibility of a relationship with Jeremy – the Alpha Pack leader for the werewolves. I started reading this series over a year ago and I have to say that I haven’t been disappointed yet. If you like the fantastical, then you should definitely check out the latest addition to Kelley Armstrong’s Otherworld series.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.
