Nyx hates Zombies. Seriously. Hates. Zombies. Ever since she was a youngling, she’s been haunted by them. And even though she’s a big girl now—a half-human, half-Drow private eye, to be precise—Nyx bristles at the mere thought of the walking dead.

Meanwhile, the corpses of humans and paranorms alike are turning up all over New York City. Now it’s up to Nyx to find out who—or what—is behind this series of horrific attacks. But it’s only a matter of time before Nyx is drawn deeper into her darkest fears…and her worst nightmare about meeting a real, flesh-and-blood-hungry, body-snatching Zombie comes blindingly to life. Or death…

Meet Cheyenne McCray/Jaymie Holland!

Cheyenne McCrayNew York Times and USA Today bestselling author Cheyenne McCray would give just about anything to run away with Jason Bourne to any foreign country (minus the getting shot at part) or visit an Otherworld realm. Either one, she’s so there.

A multiple award-winning author, Cheyenne grew up on a ranch in southeastern Arizona. Chey has been writing ever since she can remember, back to her kindergarten days when she penned her first poem. She always knew one day she would write novels, hoping her readers would get lost in the worlds she created, just as she experienced when she read some of her favorite books.

Chey has three sons, two dogs, and is an Arizona native who loves the desert, the sunshine, and the beautiful sunsets. Visit Chey’s website at http://www.cheyennemccray.com.

Contest Time!

Cheyenne McCray/Jaymie Holland is giving away a copy of Zombies Sold Separately and Claimed by Pleasure. To enter, all you have to do is answer this one question: You’re playing secret santa and your friend wants a book by an author they haven’t read before, what would you get them? Remember, you must answer the question in order to be entered.

Even though I’m not giving the additional entries any more, you can still help support the author by sharing their article, and this contest, on your blog, Twitter, Facebook, or anywhere you can. After all, the more people who are aware of this fabulous author ensures we get more fabulous stories.

The winner must post a review of the novel someplace. Whether it is on their own blog, Amazon, GoodReads, LibraryThing or wherever, it doesn’t matter. Just help get the word out.

All Black Friday contests will remain open until December 31st at which time I’ll determine the winner with help from the snazzy new plug-in I have. Have you checked out the other Black Friday contests yet? Check out the Master List to see all the Black Friday giveaways

I have not been contacting winners, so you will need to check back to see if you’ve won.

I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I would give them Kevin Hearne’s Iron Druid series, or at least the first book – Hounded. This is such a fantastic urban fantasy series, with lots of action and suitable for many of the readers I know.

  2. It’s a tough decision but, assuming my friend loves urban fantasy, I’d have to go with Spider’s Bite by Jennifer Estep.

Thanks for running such a fabulous feature!

  3. Oh well, I did buy my friend Red Hot Fury by Kasey MacKenzie and the Hush, Hush series so far by Becca Fitzpatrick! :)

  4. Depends which friend, because like, one of mine loves murder mysteries with a bit of romance, but I would love to get someone Darkfever by Karen Marie Moning, just because I love the series and would want to get them hooked. Thanks!~

  5. This is too hard because there are so many books I like and there are a bunch of genres I could choose from!

But if I can pick only one, I have to go with Nightlife by Rob Thurman since this is one of my favorite series.

  6. I’d recommend the Kara Gillian books by Diana Rowland. If she’s read that, I have about 50 other suggestions! :)

  7. I have done this for several friends this year, and I love introducing my friends to great new authors and series :-)

I have gifted books by Nadia Lee, Sierra Dean, Carolyn Crane and Gini Koch mostly to my friends, and I hope they will enjoy them :-D
