Black Friday Contest: Magic on the Line by Devon Monk

Black FridayWhat is a Black Friday without a few gifts and surprises? Devon Monk wanted to be here, but due to deadlines (and we totally want more stories, right?), she was unable to participate. However, she’s sent along this fabulous beauty instead: Magic on the Line. We are giving away 2 copies of Magic on the Line and I know you want it. *grin*

DMonk-Magic on the LineAllison Beckstrom has willingly paid the price of pain to use magic, and has obeyed the rules of the Authority, the clandestine organization that makes-and enforces-all magic policy. But when the Authority’s new boss, Bartholomew Wray, refuses to believe that the sudden rash of deaths in Portland might be caused by magic, Allie must choose to follow the Authority’s rules, or turn against the very people for whom she’s risked her life.

To stop the plague of dark magic spreading through the city, all that she values will be on the line: her magic, her memories, her life. Now, as dead magic users rise to feed upon the innocent and the people closest to her begin to fall, Allie is about to run out of options.

Contest Time!

Devon is giving away 2 copies of Magic on the Line. To enter, all you have to do is answer this one question: Today’s the last day of Black Friday, which means tomorrow is Christmas – are you hoping to find any books under the tree? Which ones? Remember, you must answer the question in order to be entered.

Even though I’m not giving the additional entries any more, you can still help support the author by sharing their article, and this contest, on your blog, Twitter, Facebook, or anywhere you can. After all, the more people who are aware of this fabulous author ensures we get more fabulous stories.

The winner must post a review of the novel someplace. Whether it is on their own blog, Amazon, GoodReads, LibraryThing or wherever, it doesn’t matter. Just help get the word out.

All Black Friday contests will remain open until December 31st at which time I’ll determine the winner with help from the snazzy new plug-in I have. Have you checked out the other Black Friday contests yet? Check out the Master List to see all the Black Friday giveaways

I have not been contacting winners, so you will need to check back to see if you’ve won.

About Jackie 3282 Articles
I am a 30-something SAHM with two adorable boys and a supportive husband who is very tolerant of my reading addiction. I love to read and easily go through about a dozen books a month – well I did before I had kids. Now, not so much. After my first son was born, I began to take my hobby of reviewing a little more serious and started Literary Escapism to help with my sanity. I love to discuss the fabulous novels I’ve read and meeting all the wonderful people in the book blogging community has been amazing.

  1. I rarely get books for Christmas – my family all say I have so many they wouldn’t know which ones to get me! Luckily I have some fabulous friends who can actually use amazon wishlist so I occasionally get the odd one from them each year. :-)

  2. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a book for Christmas. None of my friends know or understand my tastes in books and I don’t make my wish lists public. However, everyone knows that I’d be happy to get an Amazon gift certificate!

  3. I won’t get any books, I never had. My family doesn’t know my reading tastes, and I buy my books online anyway.

  4. My family won’t get me any books anymore because they say I have too many. I have to buy all the books I want myself.

  5. I got all my books a bit early (meaning we ordered them for me for christmas, and i snatched em and hid em as soon as they came in.. lol) so im not expecting to find any books under the tree! but i did get some good ones.. ilona andrews, jennifer estep, meljean brook.. whooo!!

  6. OOh quite a few! This year I actually had a few to ask for! I wanted Shadow Reader by Sandy Williams, Destined by Jessie Harrell, The Name of the Star by Maureen Johnson, Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake, and a few gorgeous hardcovers of The Count of Monte Cristo and Hans Andersen: The Complete Fairy Tales!

  7. I have so many books I want to check out including Sergeant Rex, Enduring Light and The Taker. Merry Christmas!

  8. Of course I want books under the tree. I’m hoping for Gini Koch’s Alien Proliferation, Ellen Connor’s Daybreak, Meljean Brook’s Heart of Steel, and Cherie Priest’s Hellbent.

  9. I’ll most likely get a bookstore gift card because I don’t think anyone remembers what books I want. But we shall see.

  10. I rarely get books for Christmas, but if I did I’d love to get FINDING SERENITY: Anti-Heroes, Lost Shepherds, and Space Hookers in Joss Whedon’s Firefly – edited by Jane Espenson

Would love a gift card to B&N or to one of my favorite indy bookshops.

  12. Tomorrow is black Friday n I am wishing to find a book by Judith mcnaught calked something wonderful . This book is the first historical romance novel I read n hold many precious memories to me

  13. I didn’t get any books for Christmas! Booooo :( I would love to read Darkness Falls, Bloodrose and A Perfect Blood though :)

  14. I was really hoping for a copy of Death Magic by Eileen Wilks, but had to buy it myself. I did get some other cool books though and am really looking forward to reading them.

  15. Oh, gods, what a question! I have an Xmas book wishlist a mile long that includes such books as BEDEVILED by Sable Grace, BLOOD RIGHTS by Kristen Painter and THAT OLD BLACK MAGIC by Michelle Rowen. Really what I’d like are giftcards for the local bookstore – then Mr. Mailman can bring me many, many books, ^^

  16. I got more books than I know what to do with. If I wasn’t so OCD about the condition of my books and they were all in print (over half were e-books), I’d roll around on the floor with them. Or build a fort. Lol. I got a wide variety of titles, but a few I’m excited for the most are Legend by Marie Lu, Blood of Eden by Tami Dane, and Prince of Air and Darkness by Jenna Black. I’ve also read two of my Christmas books already and both were 5 Star reads: Coyote’s Creed by Vaughn M. Demont and Beauty Dates the Beast by Jessica Sims.
